  • Wanted

The gangster-thriller Telugu hit, with the title of Pokiri by Puri Jagannath was a huge success on big screens in 2006. With Mahesh Babu, Ileana D’Cruz, and Prakash Raj cast in lead roles, the film did exceptionally well. The film then entered Bollywood in 2009 as Wanted with Prabhudeva directing it and Salman Khan working his usual magic on his fans and making Wanted the second highest grosser of the year 2009. Wanted is one of the top Bollywood films that was an exact copy of Tollywood movies.




  • Rowdy Rathore

S.S. Rajamouli’s Vikramarkudu created a buzz in the Telugu industry in the year of 2006 with Ravi Teja, Anushka Shetty, and Vineet Kumar in pivotal roles. The film was remade in Bollywood by Prabhudeva as Rowdy Rathore which went on to become a Bollywood Blockbuster, entering the 100-crore club with Akshay Kumar making the audience go crazy with his power-packed performance.




  • Singham

This action-packed film by Rohit Shetty, the one who defies the rules of Physics with his direction was a major blockbuster on the big screens in 2011. Ajay Devgn outshined himself in the movie, making it one of his best performances. It was a remake of a Tamil film by Hari that came out as Singham in the year 2010. The movie went on to become such a hit in Bollywood that it even came out with a sequel that worked in favor of everyone.




  • Hera Pheri

The legendary trio of Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty who is loved by one and all in the Bollywood industry created a buzz in 2000 with their comedy film Hera Pheri which did exceptionally well in the cinemas, with these three rulings our hearts with their performances. The movie is a remake of the 1989 Malayalam film, Ramji Rao Speaking. Hera Pheri went on to become a classic of all times and came out with its sequel in the year 2006.

  • Ghajini

This trend-setting action-thriller film went on to become the highest grossing one of the year 2008 and the first one to hit the 100-crore mark, officially initiating the 100-crore club domestically. The remake of A.R. Murugadoss’ film released under the same name in 2005 was redirected by the director in 2008 for Bollywood with eminent actor, Aamir Khan and a fresh debut face, Asin in lead roles.




  • Kick

The blockbuster film was released in the Tollywood industry in 2009 under the same name, Kick with Ravi Teja and Illeana D’Cruz sharing the screen. The film went on to get its remakes made in various languages, eventually reaching Bollywood in 2014 and being released with the same name with none other than Salman Khan marking his presence in one of the highest-grossing films of the year. Even after getting mixed reviews, the film did exceptionally well in numbers with Salman coming out as a singer for his famous song, Hangover.

 

  • Main Tera Hero

Released in the Tollywood industry in the year 2011 as Kandireega, Santosh Srinivas’s romantic comedy starred Ram, Hansika Motwani, and Aksha Pardasany. The film went on to become a box office hit, eventually paving its way in Bollywood as Main Tera Hero with the charm of Varun Dhawan igniting the big screen along with Nargis Fakhri and Illeana D’Cruz in the lead roles. The David Dhawan remake called for mixed revies in Bollywood, making it a semi-hit film of 2014.

The 2015 thriller film by Nishikant Kamat is a remake of the Malayalam language film of the same name by Jeethu Joseph. With Ajay Devgn, Tabu, and Shriya Saran highlighting the big screen, the film got mixed reviews for its performance, trying to create its mark and impact at the box office.

Okkadu by Gunashekhar was a melodrama film of 2003 that went on to become a super hit film in Tollywood and bagged several awards for its performance on the big screen.
