1- RRR – Rs 600 Crore

RRR is one of the biggest Indian blockbusters ever. It is the most expensive movie ever made in India, with a budget of Rs 600 Crore. RRR did a solid business at the worldwide box office and became one of the highest grosser of all time. The film, directed by S.S. Rajamouli, stars Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in the main roles. RRR has collected over Rs 1100 Crores in its lifetime at the box office. It was released on 25th March 2022.

2- 2.0 – Rs 575 Crore

Superstar Rajinikanth and Bollywood’s action hero Akshay Kumar featured in this movie that failed to be a behemoth at the box office. 2.0 earned Rs 615 Crore at the box office and barely recovered its cost. The movie was released in the theatres on 29th November 2018. It was a big letdown for the fans of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar despite being made on a huge budget.

3- Adipurush- Rs 550 Crore

Directed by Om Raut, Adipurush was originally slated to release in January 2023. However, the film received huge backlash due to its VFX, and the date of the release was pushed forward 6 months. Adipurush featuring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan is made at a huge budget of Rs 550 Crore. It is definitely one of the most expensive movies in India of all time.

4- Ponniyin Selvan- Rs 500 Crore

Ponniyin Selvan is a two-part film directed by the veteran Mani Ratnam. The first part of the movie starring Vikram, Trisha Krishnan and Aishwary Rai Bachchan was released on 30th September, 2022. The movie did phenomenally well at the box office and earned Rs 482 Crores globally. The film’s second part will be released in 2023, and we can expect the PS franchise to turn into a blockbuster.

5- Pushpa The Rule- Rs 400 Crore

Pushpa The Rule starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, is going to be one of the most expensive movies in India of all time. It is being made at a massive budget of Rs 400 Crore. The success of Pushpa The Rise has prompted the producers to invest huge cash in the film. It will release in mid-2023.

6- Saaho- Rs 350 Crore

Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor played the lead in this action thriller that is amongst the most expensive movies in India of all time. Saaho was made on a monumental budget of Rs 350 Crore. The film was a mediocre success at the box office and earned only Rs 412 Crore. It underperformed at the box office. It was released in 2019.

7- Radhe Shyam- Rs 300 Crore

Radhe Shyam is another film featuring Prabhas on this list. Since Bahubali, the producers are not afraid to go big on movies starring Prabhas. However, Radhe Shyam was a big disappointment. The movie was made at a huge budget of Rs 300 Crore but earned only Rs 156.8 Crore at the box office. It is one of the biggest flops of all time for Prabhas. Radhe Shyam was released on 11th March 2022.

8- Thugs of Hindostan – Rs 310 Crore

Despite having two of the biggest superstars of Bollywood, Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, Thugs of Hindostan failed miserably at the box office. The movie was made at a budget of Rs 310 Crore and earned only Rs 245 Crores worldwide. It was a big failure for Aamir Khan. Thugs of Hindostan was released on 8th November 2018.

9- Samrat Prithviraj – Rs 300 Crore

Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chhillar played the main roles in this historical movie that tanked at the box office. Samrat Prithviraj was made at a budget of Rs 300 Crores and earned only Rs 70 Crores at the box office. It was released on 2nd June 2022.

10- Brahmastra Part One – Rs 300 Crore

Made at a budget of Rs 300 Crore, Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra Part One earned well at the box office despite mixed reviews. The movie managed to rake in Rs 418 Crore at the worldwide box office. Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni and Mouni Roy played the lead in this film.
