OnePlus Turbo 6X and Turbo 6X Pro Launched With Giant Batteries, Tough Build, and 144Hz Screens

OnePlus just launched two phones that are clearly not interested in being thin. The Turbo 6X and Turbo 6X Pro are all about lasting longer, hitting harder, and surviving more — without asking for a premium price.

OnePlus Turbo 6X and Turbo 6X Pro Launched With Giant Batteries, Tough Build, and 144Hz Screens

If you’ve ever plugged in your phone by 3 PM and thought “this is ridiculous,” the OnePlus Turbo 6X series might actually get your attention.

OnePlus launched two new phones in China — the Turbo 6X and the Turbo 6X Pro — and the story here is pretty simple: massive batteries, solid performance, and a build that can take a beating. No gimmicks, no ultra-thin obsession. Just phones that actually last.

The Battery Numbers Are Hard to Ignore

The regular Turbo 6X carries a 7,000mAh battery. The Pro bumps that up to 8,000mAh.

To put that in perspective — most mid-range phones today ship with 4,500mAh to 5,000mAh cells. OnePlus is essentially doubling that. For commuters, travelers, gamers, or anyone who spends a full day away from a charger, that kind of capacity could genuinely mean two full days of normal use.

The Pro model also supports 80W fast charging, so even with that giant cell, you’re not waiting forever to top it up. It also has bypass charging, which routes power directly to the phone during gaming instead of going through the battery — that keeps the device cooler during long sessions, which mobile gamers will appreciate.

OnePlus Turbo 6X and Turbo 6X Pro Launched - Everything You Need to Know

OnePlus Turbo 6X: The One That Keeps It Simple

The standard Turbo 6X is the more wallet-friendly of the two, but it doesn’t feel like a compromise.

You get a 6.72-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with a 144Hz refresh rate. Scrolling through social media, swiping between apps, playing a fast-paced game — it all feels noticeably smoother than what you’d get on a standard 60Hz panel.

The MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Super handles the processing, and with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage on the table, day-to-day use should be comfortable. Multitasking, streaming, light gaming — it should handle all of that without complaints.

For photos, there’s a 50MP main camera backed by a 2MP secondary shooter. An 8MP front camera handles selfies and video calls.

It comes in Black, White, and Green, and you can pick from three memory setups: 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, or 12GB + 256GB.

Turbo 6X Pro: When You Want More of Everything

The Pro is where OnePlus clearly spent more time.

The display steps up to a 6.78-inch Samsung AMOLED panel at 1.5K resolution, still running at 144Hz. AMOLED means better contrast, deeper blacks, and more vibrant colors compared to the LCD on the standard model. It’s also tuned for outdoor visibility, so bright sunlight won’t make it a struggle to read.

Inside, the Dimensity 7400 Super takes over — a modest but meaningful upgrade that brings better efficiency and a bit more headroom for demanding tasks.

The cameras improve too. You get a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP secondary camera, and a 16MP front camera for selfies. That jump from 8MP to 16MP up front is a nice touch for anyone who does a lot of video calls or content creation.

The Pro is available in Black and Orange. That orange is genuinely different — not a safe color choice, and that’s kind of the point. Configurations mirror the standard model: 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 256GB.

This Phone Is Built to Take a Hit

OnePlus didn’t just focus on what’s inside. The Turbo 6X Pro has IP66, IP68, and IP69 water and dust resistance ratings — meaning it can handle rain, splashes, brief submersion, and even high-pressure water jets.

On top of that, it’s passed military-grade durability tests. Drop it, knock it around, use it in dusty or humid conditions — it’s designed to handle real-world wear better than most phones in this price range.

The standard Turbo 6X also leans into durability, though it doesn’t carry the same certification stack as the Pro.

    ColorOS 16 and Android 16

Both phones ship with ColorOS 16 on top of Android 16. OnePlus is highlighting smoother performance, better system optimization, and a handful of AI-powered tools for everyday tasks.

The Pro also includes NFC, stereo speakers, and solid connectivity options, making it a well-rounded package for the price.

    So Why Does This Matter?

Most phone brands right now are racing to make their cameras better or their designs thinner. OnePlus is doing something a little different here — asking what people actually complain about, and fixing that first.

Running out of battery is one of the most common frustrations smartphone users have. The Turbo 6X series takes that problem seriously in a way that most brands don’t.

Add in a fast display, capable chipsets, a tough build, and competitive pricing, and these two phones make a genuine case for themselves in the crowded mid-range space. They’re not trying to be flashy. They’re trying to be useful — and sometimes that’s exactly what people need.
