The Jio Platforms IPO enters its second day of bidding on Thursday, October 22, after a blockbuster start. Retail investors, however, are yet to fill their quota.

Jio IPO Day 1 Recap
The Rs 30,213 crore issue received bids for about 3.2 times the shares on offer by the end of Day 1, according to exchange data reported on Tuesday evening. Qualified institutional buyers led the way at 9.42 times their quota, a day after the anchor book drew record bids of around Rs 2.5 trillion.
Non-institutional investors subscribed their portion 1.83 times. The special quota for Reliance Industries shareholders was booked 1.46 times, and the employee portion 1.36 times.
Retail Investors Yet to Fill Their Quota
The retail portion is the only category still below full subscription. Retail investors placed bids worth over Rs 6,900 crore on Day 1, against a retail quota of about 8.5 crore shares, worth roughly Rs 9,500 crore at the upper price band. That puts retail subscription at around 0.73 times.
Retail demand in large IPOs usually picks up on the last two days, so Day 2 and Day 3 will decide the final picture. If the retail portion stays under 1 time by the close on October 23, every valid retail application would get full allotment. If it goes above 1 time, shares will be allotted through a lottery, with one lot for each successful applicant.
