Samsung is getting ready to add another phone to its budget lineup in India. The Galaxy F70 5G will launch on October 18, and the company has already put up a dedicated page on Flipkart so buyers can see what is coming. It joins the Galaxy F70 Pro 5G and the Galaxy F70e 5G, and it is clearly aimed at people who want a solid phone without spending too much.
Expected price and colours
Samsung is teasing a price under Rs 20,000. The Flipkart page also hints that the effective price, after offers, could fall in the Rs 1X,XXX range. That means we will have to wait for the launch to see the exact number. The phone will come in two colours, Bold Black and Vivid Violet.
If you are comparing options in this range, you may also want to look at the Oppo K14 Plus, which has already launched in India. Our article covers its price, specs, sale date, and offers.
Design and display
The Galaxy F70 5G is slim, at just 7.5mm thick, and weighs around 192 grams. The back is flat, with a pill-shaped camera strip in the top left corner. The power button sits on the right, and the left side is clean. It also has an IP54 rating, so it can handle light dust and small splashes of water.
On the front, you get a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, which should make scrolling feel smooth. The selfie camera sits in a waterdrop-style notch, and the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
Performance and battery
The phone runs on Samsung’s own Exynos 1330 chip, built on a 5nm process. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and you can add a microSD card of up to 2TB if you need more room for photos and videos.
The battery is a large 5,000mAh unit with 25W fast charging over USB Type C. Software may come with Android 17 and Samsung’s One UI on top.
Battery life is something everyone cares about, no matter the brand. If you also own an iPhone and have noticed it draining faster lately, our guide on iPhone 17 battery drain after iOS 27 explains why it happens and lists 12 fixes that work.
Cameras
This is where the F70 5G tries to stand out. It has a triple camera setup led by a 50-megapixel main sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation. That should help with sharper photos and steadier videos, even in low light or when your hands are not steady.
The main camera is joined by a 5-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. For selfies and video calls, there is a 13-megapixel front camera.
Smart features
Samsung is also bringing a few premium tools to this price range. Circle to Search lets you look up anything on your screen by circling it.
Quick Share helps you move files to other devices quickly, and Voice Focus reduces background noise during calls. The phone also supports Samsung Wallet and is protected by Knox Security.
Should you wait for the launch?
If you are in the market for a budget 5G phone, the F70 5G looks worth waiting for. A bright AMOLED screen, OIS on the main camera, and long software support are not always easy to find under Rs 20,000.
The real test will be the final price and how the phone performs in daily use. We will know more once it goes official on October 18.
