Saiyaara Movie Review: A Fresh Take on Romance

    Saiyaara Movie Review

    Rating: 3.5/5 stars

After months of buzz, Saiyaara finally hit theaters today, and it’s clear why this Yash Raj Films production has been creating such excitement. Director Mohit Suri, known for his emotional storytelling in films like Aashiqui 2, returns with another heartfelt love story that feels both familiar and refreshingly new.

    The Story

Saiyaara follows Krish Kapoor (Ahaan Panday), a young singer trying to make it big in the music industry. When he teams up with lyricist Vaani (Aneet Padda), their professional partnership quickly turns into something deeper. What starts as a successful collaboration becomes a passionate love affair, but like all great love stories, it’s not without its challenges.

The film explores what happens when two people who create beautiful music together face the harsh realities of life and love. Without giving away too much, let’s just say their journey takes them through some pretty intense emotional ups and downs.

    The Performances

For a debut film, both Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda deliver surprisingly strong performances. Ahaan brings a natural charm to his role as the aspiring singer, and you can feel his character’s hunger for success. Aneet matches him perfectly as Vaani, showing impressive range in emotional scenes.

What works really well is their chemistry on screen. “Ahaan and Aneet have that star quality — Saiyaara is just the beginning.” Their pairing feels genuine, which is crucial for a love story to work.

    What Works

The music is definitely the film’s strongest point. The songs are catchy and blend well with the story, never feeling forced or out of place. Mohit Suri knows how to use music to enhance emotions, and he does that brilliantly here.

The emotional moments hit hard. When the characters go through tough times, you feel it with them. The director manages to make you care about what happens to these two people, which is half the battle won for any romantic film.

    What Could Be Better

At two and a half hours, the film feels a bit long in places. Some scenes could have been trimmed without losing the emotional impact. Also, while the story is engaging, it follows a fairly predictable path that fans of romantic dramas will see coming.

The supporting cast, including Varun Badola, does their job well but doesn’t get much scope to shine beyond their basic roles.

    Final Thoughts

Saiyaara is a solid romantic drama that succeeds mainly because of its leads’ performances and strong musical score. It’s the kind of film that will appeal to anyone who enjoys a good love story with plenty of heart.

While it may not revolutionize the romance genre, it’s a well-made film that introduces two promising newcomers to Bollywood. “Best Musical LOVE STORY OF 2025” might be a bit of an overstatement, but it’s definitely worth watching if you’re in the mood for an emotional ride.

For a debut film, Saiyaara shows a lot of promise. Both Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda have made impressive first impressions, and under Mohit Suri’s capable direction, they’ve created something that feels both timeless and current.

Bottom Line: If you enjoy romantic dramas with good music and strong performances, Saiyaara is worth your time and money. It’s a film that reminds us why we fall in love with love stories in the first place.
