Reliance Jio has launched a new Rs 10,000 prepaid plan that comes with three years of validity from a single recharge. Jio Rs 10,000 Plan Benefits Explained
Unlimited 5G and 2.5GB Daily Data
Users with a 5G smartphone who live in an area covered by Jio’s 5G network will get unlimited 5G data. Those using a 4G phone, or living outside 5G coverage, will get 2.5GB of high-speed data every day.
Over the full three years, the daily quota adds up to about 2,737GB of 4G data, apart from the unlimited 5G usage.
Unlimited Calls and SMS
The plan includes unlimited voice calls to any network across India, along with 100 SMS per day for the entire validity.
JioHotstar, Canva Pro Lite and JioAICloud
Subscribers get access to JioHotstar Mobile + Hollywood, which covers live sports, TV shows, Hotstar Originals and Hollywood content on mobile.
The plan also comes with a 12-month Canva Pro Lite subscription and 50GB of free storage on JioAICloud. It is important to note that the Canva benefit is valid only for the first year, not the full three years.
Jio Rs 10,000 Plan vs Rs 3,599 Annual Plan
Jio’s Rs 3,599 annual plan offers the same 2.5GB of daily data and unlimited 5G, but for one year. Here is how the two compare over three years:
| Details | Rs 10,000 plan | Rs 3,599 plan (x3) |
|---|---|---|
| Total cost for 3 years | Rs 10,000 | Rs 10,797 |
| Cost per day | About Rs 9.13 | About Rs 9.86 |
| Number of recharges | One | Three |
| Protection from tariff hikes | Yes, for 3 years | No, renewal at new rates |
Even at current prices, the three-year plan saves about Rs 797. If Jio raises its tariffs in the next two years, the savings would be higher, as the annual plan would cost more at the time of renewal.
Why Jio Launched a 3-Year Plan
Mobile tariffs in India have gone up several times in recent years, and users have often had to pay more for the same benefits after each hike. A long-term plan with locked pricing gives customers peace of mind and saves them the trouble of recharging every month or every year.
For Jio, the plan is also a way to keep customers on its network for a long time. Once a user pays Rs 10,000 upfront, they are likely to stay with Jio for the next three years.
Who Should Buy the Jio Rs 10,000 Plan?
The plan makes the most sense for:
- Users who are happy with Jio’s network in their area and plan to stay with it
- People who use a lot of data and already recharge with long-term plans
- Families buying a plan for parents or elders who find monthly recharges a hassle
- Users who want to stay protected from future tariff hikes
Things to Keep in Mind Before Recharging
- The full Rs 10,000 has to be paid upfront.
- The plan ties users to Jio for three years. Anyone planning to switch to another network, or unhappy with Jio’s coverage, should think twice.
- Canva Pro Lite is valid only for 12 months.
- Unlimited 5G works only on a 5G phone and in areas with Jio 5G coverage.
- Users should check Jio’s terms for data speed after the 2.5GB daily limit is used up, and for rules on refunds or changing plans midway.
How to Recharge the Jio Rs 10,000 Plan
The plan is available across all of Jio’s recharge channels. Users can recharge through:
- The MyJio app
- The official Jio website, Jio.com
- Jio Stores and authorised retail outlets
- Other online recharge platforms that support Jio plans
To recharge on the MyJio app, open the app, go to the Recharge section, look for the Rs 10,000 plan under the long-term or annual plans category, and complete the payment.
