Emraan Hashmi has had a good run lately, and his next film is already lined up. Gunmaaster G9 reaches theatres worldwide on November 27, 2026, which is about three weeks from now. The teaser came out back in August, and it still tells you a lot about what kind of film this is going to be.
What does the teaser show?
The teaser opens with Emraan getting beaten up by a pack of men carrying guns and other weapons. But he keeps getting back up, and each time he looks stronger than before. The reason, according to the teaser, is simple. He is driven by love, and he will go to any length to get it.
The first dialogue is a strong one. Emraan talks about his faith in God and his passion for love, and it sets the tone for a film that wants to be loud, stylish, and full of big moments. There are also glimpses of fight scenes that look made for a theatre crowd.
One review calls this a hardcore romantic side of the actor, while another sees it as a commercial action avatar. Honestly, both are right. The film seems to want to be a mix of both.
The romance track
Genelia D’Souza plays the female lead, and the teaser only gives small glimpses of her character. One report says her face is barely shown, while another says the teaser already hints at chemistry between the two. Either way, the makers seem to be saving the big reveal for later.
The softer, quieter moments between the leads also give the teaser some variety. It is not just punches and gunfire. There is an emotional layer too, and that could help the film reach a wider audience.
Himesh Reshammiya’s music
Music has always been a big part of Emraan Hashmi’s films, and Himesh Reshammiya has given him hits like Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Aksar, and many more. In this teaser, Himesh’s music plays towards the end, and it is called the show-stealer by one reviewer.
The same reviewer also points to Awarapan 2, which was powered by its music and is said to have brought big crowds to theatres. If that magic repeats, the soundtrack could become one of the film’s biggest selling points.
Cast and crew
Along with Emraan and Genelia, the film stars Aparshakti Khurana. Aditya Datt directs it. It is produced by Deepak Mukut, Hunar Mukut and Sangeeta Ahir, and presented by Soham Rockstar Entertainment. This is also another film for the production house in partnership with Himesh Reshammiya.
A small word of caution
The teaser works as a first look, but it does not tell much of the story. The makers have held back the plot on purpose, which keeps the mystery alive, but it also means we do not yet know how strong the writing is. The action and music look promising. The story is still a question mark.
More films to line up
