    Know Which Country Permits Indian Driving License to Travel

    Who doesn’t like exploring new places in a car or a bike when you are traveling in another country? Driving is fun as you have all the time to visit your desired places, isn’t it? You can pause wherever you want and at any time you want. Traveling like this allows you to interact with different cultures, heritage, and lives of local people. If you are willing to go on a road trip abroad on a bike or a car along with your Indian Driving License, then you should go through the list of all the 15 overseas nations that will approve Indian Driving License.




    1. Bhutan

    It is really easy to drive your vehicle across this nation as you only need an Indian Driving License. The Indian citizens are permitted to drive a two-wheeler and a four-wheeled vehicle in Bhutan.

    1. United States of America (USA)

    You need to bring the I-94 form with the date mentioned when you entered the USA along with your Indian Driving License. And, there is a condition that the document should be lawful and is in English, then only you will be able to drive a rented car by using your Indian DL in most states of the USA for a 1-year term only.

    1. Finland

    Keeping health insurance with yourself in Finland is compulsory if you want to drive, and the Indian Driving License should be available from 6 to 12-months depending on the insurance.

    1. Malaysia

    Malaysia is a strict country in terms of obeying laws so it will be better to be ready with all the documents which are demanded. For the verification process, you have to submit your papers to the approving authority or the Indian Embassy. Your Indian DL must be either in English or in Malay if you want to ride on Malaysian highways. Somehow, if are lacking a few required documents or has some flaws in them then you need an International DL to travel.



    1. Canada

    In Canada, you have to drive on the right side of the road and the Indian DL is only valid for 60 days, during which you have to issue a Canadian Driving License in order to continue driving in the country.

    1. Germany

    With your Indian DL, you can drive for 6 months in Germany and make sure that you will follow all the traffic rules and will drive on the right side of the road in order to continue your driving. Still, you need to have a German translated copy of your Driving License and it will be a lot better to issue an International Driving Permit if you are allowed to keep it with you by the local government.



    1. Spain

    If you are a non-citizen of this country then you can roam around in the vehicle with your Indian Driving License for 6 months, after that you have no choice but have to enroll for citizenship. Your DL must be in English and has to be verified by the approving authority.



    1. Australia

    In Australia, Indian drivers will be relieved to know that they have to drive on the left side of the road. But you can drive for a period of 3 months, and with your Indian Driving License, you can drive through the streets of New South Wales, South Australia, Queensland, the Northern Region, and the Australian Capital Region. It is mandatory that your DL should be printed in English only other than any of the colloquial languages of India.

    1. Hong Kong

    In Hong Kong, you can lawfully drive a vehicle for up to a year and can also drive with an International Driving License.

    1. United Kingdom

    The United Kingdom has not enabled every type of vehicle for the drivers with an Indian Driving License. With your Indian DL, you will be permitted to travel on certain highways of the United Kingdom which comprises Wales, Scotland, and England only for a year.



    1. Singapore

    If you are currently driving with your Indian DL then you must issue a new Singapore Driving License soon because your Indian DL will be considered invalid after 1 year. If you do not wish to translate your DL in the regional language then let it be in English.

    1. New Zealand

    Indians won’t face many problems in New Zealand as they have to drive on the left side of the road. The Indian DL is valid for 1 year only, and you must be at least 21 years old to drive a vehicle in this nation. Make sure that a copy of the license is approved by the Transport Agency of New Zealand and the DL is in English.

    1. Sweden

    The validity of an Indian Driving License in Sweden is for 1 year only and in order to drive a vehicle in Sweden, your DL must be either in German, Norwegian, French, Swedish, or English.



    1. South Africa

    A global driving license may be required by certain car rental companies in South Africa, and you will be able to drive your vehicle with your Indian DL only if, it is in English with your photograph and signature on it.

    1. Switzerland

    Your Indian Driving License will be valid for 1 year and make sure that your DL is in English even when you are driving a rented car in Switzerland.
