Instagram launches a new feature called ‘Instagram Live Rooms’, which allows adding three more users to go live with you. Its main purpose is to give a wider environment and approach to the content creators so that their interactions become more engaging and exciting with their audiences. Along with engagement, it helps in knowing the user in a better way. The company revealed its new feature in a press conference and mentioned that the company is very much concerned about its user’s privacy and any abusive content will not be tolerated at all.
The company says that earlier tests of ‘Live Rooms’ were done in India and it is one of the first countries where this feature has been rolled out broadly.
“Our job is to provide the best user experience and features to the content creators which will help their community to grow and allow them to express themselves better. Starting from Reels till rolling out of Live Rooms, India had played an important role in popularizing these features throughout the world’, Ajit Mohan, Vice President, and Managing Director, Facebook India, mentioned this in the conference. After India, Instagram Live Rooms will also be available in Indonesia.
Due to this pandemic, people started giving time to each other and Instagram played an important role by providing a platform of interaction to its users. Since March, Instagram Live views grew by 60 percent as Lockdown gave time to everyone so that they can interact with their friends and families very easily. Now with the ability to go live with the other three users gave creators an opportunity to host talk shows or podcasts, expand their reach, engage with new communities, and collaborate with other creators.

It is very simple to go Live on Instagram with other creators. You just have to tap the ‘blue plus sign’ made on your profile picture in the Stories tray or you can swipe left from the home screen. At the bottom of the screen you will see many options and you just have to select the LIVE option to continue. Once you are Live on Instagram, you will see a Room icon somewhere in the corner of your screen, tap the Room icon and you can access the list of people who have requested you to join your Live session or you can search for a user’s name in the search menu and send them a request to join you on Instagram Live. You can also add a title to your live video. Try this new feature and feel free to express yourself in a better way.
