Disney+ Hotstar Ends Deal with HBO: List of Shows that will become Unavailable

HBO shows will become Unavailable on Disney+ Hotstar starting 1st April 2023


Disney+ Hotstar has reached an agreement with HBO to end their long collaboration. Many hit shows like The Sopranos, Succession, Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon and more will soon become unavailable on Disney+ Hotstar from 1st April 2023. The deal has ended due to the cost cutting and restructuring measures adopted by Disney+ Hotstar.

Disney CEO Bob Iger has confirmed the news and has announced his intentions about bringing more changes to the streaming platform. In a recent Tweet, the official Twitter handle of Disney+ Tweeted, “Starting 31st March, HBO content will be unavailable on Disney+ Hotstar. You can continue enjoying Disney+ Hotstar’s vast library of content spanning over 100,000 hours of TV Shows and Movies in 10 languages and coverage of major global sporting events.”

The question is on which OTT platform, the HBO shows will become available after parting ways with Disney+ Hotstar. Currently, there is a rumour that Amazon Prime Video will start streaming all HBO movies and shows in India. Several HBO Max Originals, including ‘The Flight Attendant’ and ‘Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin’, are already available on the streaming platform.
