    Schemes & Reforms Announced by PM Modi in Independence Day Speech

    On 15 August 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the Red Fort on the occasion of India’s 79th Independence Day. His speech focused on honouring the past, celebrating current achievements, and sharing plans for the future. Here are the key highlights:

    Tribute to Freedom Fighters

    PM Modi paid respect to India’s freedom fighters and leaders like Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. He spoke about their sacrifices and their role in keeping India united and strong.

    Operation Sindoor Success

    He praised the Indian Army for the recent success of Operation Sindoor. He said it showed that India’s security and defence preparedness are stronger than ever.

    Firm Stand on Indus Water Treaty

    The Prime Minister spoke about India’s focus on water security. He said India will take an assertive stand on important agreements like the Indus Water Treaty to protect its interests.

    Progress in Technology and Semiconductors

    PM Modi announced that India has made its own semiconductor chips. He encouraged more self-reliance in advanced technology and said Digital India will continue to grow.

    Achievements in the Energy Sector

    He set a target for India to have 50% clean energy by 2025. The government will expand nuclear, solar, and wind energy projects as part of its green technology push.

    Under the Ocean MANTHAN project, India will explore the sea for gas, petroleum, and important minerals to become more energy self-sufficient.

    Space Sector Growth

    PM Modi announced plans for new space missions, the creation of an Indian Space Station, and the upcoming Gaganyaan mission. He also highlighted that India now has over 300 space startups.

    Modern Ecosystem and Reforms

    He spoke about the success of UPI, reforms in the agriculture sector, support for startups, and the empowerment of women’s self-help groups.

    Yuva Manufacturing Drive

    The Prime Minister launched the Yuva Manufacturing programme to boost domestic production and make more raw materials within India.

    Vision for Viksit Bharat 2047

    PM Modi linked the sacrifices of the past to the progress of today and shared his vision of making India a fully developed nation by 2047.

    Stand Against Terrorism and Nuclear Blackmail

    He made it clear that India will not tolerate cross-border terrorism or nuclear threats. The armed forces have full freedom to take action when needed.

    GST Reforms and Economic Policies

    A new generation of GST reforms will be announced by Diwali to reduce the tax burden on people and businesses.

    Major New Schemes

    A new fund of ₹1 lakh crore will be set up for youth entering the job market. This will help in skilling, upskilling, and creating new jobs.

    PM Modi’s speech combined respect for India’s history with a roadmap for its future. From technology to energy, defence to youth development, the focus was on making India stronger, more self-reliant, and ready for global leadership.
