Amazon Prime Video is in no mood to stay quite and is dropping one after another hit series or Movie, on their platform. After announcing the second season of Mirzapur, the next biggest thing is them launching three full feature Bollywood on their platform this time.
Yes! Just like Amitabh Bacchan’s and Ayushman Khurana’s Gulabo Sitabo, which was a massive hit. They are coming down with three other titles namely Coolie No 1, Chhalaang, And Durgavati. There are further plans to launch 6 other movies as well, making it a total of 9 movies on their platform this season.
Let’s take a look at these three movies that are making a buzz in the B-town or should we say A-tows, for they might be Bollywood movies on Amazon Prime Video but unlike before they’re not releasing on screens.
Coolie No 1
Coolie No. 1 is a remake that has been talked about for a long time now. It features the Varun Dhawan, the son of David Dhawan, who actually directed the previous version of the same movie with Govinda.
The raunchy style of acting and sleazy dialogues with dance numbers and comedy is to be expected with this entertainer. Varun and Sara Ali Khan look perfect in the lead roles.
The film will be released on December 25, 2020.
Chhalaang
The film is a social comedy set in a unique way set up in a small town in India. The movie is directed by the very talented Hansal Mehta and the lead role is given to Rajkumar Rao, who is known for his strong role and presence in the industry.
The film will be released on November 13, 2020.
Durgavati
Durgavati is a movie directed by G Ashok and the main lead role is given to Bhumi Pednekar. Now, knowing Bhumi, we all know of her past performances and how good she is. Which raised the bar of expectation from this piece of cinema.
In a talk, Bhumi Pednekar told news agency PTI: “Durgavati is going to take me in horror space. It is the most challenging and special film for me, as it is for the first time, the responsibility will be on my shoulders. Durgavati is something I’m most pressured and excited about. Akshay sir is a genius, I respect him.”
The film will be released on November 11, 2020.
Apart from that, the six other films that will also be released soon on the Amazon Prime Video Platform are Halal Love Story (Malayalam), Bheema Sena Nalamaharaja (Kannada), Soorarai Pottru (Tamil), Manne Number 13 (Kannada), Middle-Class Melodies (Telugu) and Maara (Tamil).
