    What is the Aadhaar Good Governance Portal? Know Its Benefits and Uses

    What is the Aadhaar Good Governance Portal? Know Its Benefits and Uses

    The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has launched the Aadhaar Good Governance Portal to simplify the process of Aadhaar authentication request approvals. This initiative aims to make Aadhaar more convenient, user-friendly, and improve citizen access to various services. The portal is named the Aadhaar Good Governance Portal, and its official website is swik.meity.gov.in.

    MeitY has introduced a new Aadhaar authentication rule under the 2025 Amendment to streamline approval processes and enhance digital governance. The Aadhaar Good Governance Portal is part of this effort, making verification requests easier. It will benefit sectors such as healthcare, e-commerce, and financial services.

    How Will Users Benefit?

    The Aadhaar Good Governance Portal allows both government and private institutions to request Aadhaar verification for public interest services.

    • Healthcare: Fast verification of patients will enable quicker treatment.
    • Education: Students’ verification for exams and admissions will become easier.
    • E-commerce & Aggregators: Secure transactions through e-KYC.
    • Financial Services: Useful for credit rating, loan applications, and identity verification for financial products.
    • HR & Employee Attendance: Organizations can use it for employee attendance and verification.

    How to Use the Portal?

    1. Visit the portal: swik.meity.gov.in
    2. Register as an entity – Government departments, private companies, and organizations can apply.
    3. Submit an application with details on why Aadhaar verification is needed.
    4. Receive approval.
    5. Approved entities can integrate Aadhaar verification into their apps and systems.
