Aadhaar has become the digital identity of every citizen in India. From opening a bank account to availing government schemes, Aadhaar is required everywhere. Until now, if anyone wanted to update details such as date of birth, address, or mobile number, they had to visit an Aadhaar centre, stand in long queues, and wait for weeks. But now, UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) is preparing to end this hassle.
Update Aadhaar Details from Home
UIDAI is soon going to launch the e-Aadhaar App, a fully digital platform. With this app, citizens will be able to update important Aadhaar details instantly and from the comfort of their homes.
Date of Birth, Address, and Phone Number Can Be Updated
According to reports, the app will initially allow users to update Date of Birth, Address, and Phone Number. This move will not only make the process more convenient for Aadhaar holders but also ensure that updates are more transparent and secure.
What is the e-Aadhaar App?
The e-Aadhaar App will be UIDAI’s new digital initiative, available on both Android and iOS platforms. The main aim of the app is to make Aadhaar updates simple, secure, and fast.

Details That Can Be Updated with e-Aadhaar App
At the time of launch, the app will allow updates to three key Aadhaar details:
- Date of Birth
- Address
- Mobile Number
In the future, UIDAI may also add options like updating email ID or even photo.
