The Revolutionaries has been one of the more talked about Amazon Prime Video Originals from India this year, and now that its first season has wrapped, the obvious question is doing the rounds. Will there be a Season 2?

What The Revolutionaries Season 1 Was About
The show opens in December 1912 and follows the next two years, centering on a group of misfits, Rash Behari Bose, Sachindra Nath Sanyal, Bagha Jatin, and Pratibha Lahiri, who take it upon themselves to push the British out of India. Each of them has their own personal reasons for joining the cause, and all of them grow disillusioned with the slower, non-violent path, choosing a more radical approach instead.
Bose, an Indian babu with access most revolutionaries didn’t have, uses that privilege to attempt an assassination of Viceroy Hardinge, a move that puts his own life in serious danger afterward.
Sachin, tired of staying in the shadows, wants to fight alongside Bose on the front lines rather than operate from a distance. Pratibha, educated and sharp, spends much of the season fighting simply to be heard in a movement dominated by men. And then there’s Jatin, an influential figure in the revolution who refuses to look away from injustice, no matter the personal cost.
The 8-episode season is led by Bhuvan Bam, Rohit Saraf, Pratibha Ranta, Gurfateh Pirzada, and Jason Shah, directed by Nikkhil Advani, and based on the non-fiction book of the same name. The finale, in particular, leaves viewers with a genuinely bittersweet send-off.
So, Has It Been Renewed?
As of now, Amazon Prime Video has not renewed The Revolutionaries for a season 2. That said, this isn’t unusual. Amazon typically bases its renewal decisions on a mix of factors, completion rates, overall viewership, drop-off patterns, and how well a show performed critically. Some shows get renewed almost instantly, like Reacher or Fallout, while others take years to get a green light, THEM and Upload being good examples of that slower pace.
Indian Amazon Originals do tend to get renewed fairly often when they perform well; shows like Mirzapur and Panchayat are proof of that. But even those took considerable time to actually go into production for follow-up seasons. So for The Revolutionaries, there’s no clear timeline either way, and there’s a real chance a second season might not happen at all, mainly because the story was built and closed out as a single-season arc.
What Might The Revolutionaries Season 2 Look Like, If It Happens
Right now, there’s genuinely not much to go on, since nothing has been greenlit. The first season wraps up its major plot points and gives most of its characters a real sense of closure, which makes a direct continuation less obvious than it might be for other shows.
If a second season does happen, a couple of directions seem plausible. It could follow the surviving characters and track how they continued the freedom struggle after the events of Ghadar Day. Alternatively, the show could shift into more of an anthology format, moving away from this specific set of characters entirely and focusing on a different group of freedom fighters instead.
Nothing is confirmed either way at this point. For now, fans will have to wait and see whether Amazon Prime Video decides there’s more story left to tell or whether The Revolutionaries stays a complete, self-contained season.
