Season 2 of The Terminal List reached Prime Video on October 21, 2026, and fans are already asking the same question: what happens next? The finale closes a few storylines, but it leaves the biggest ones wide open. So is a third season coming, and what could it be about?
Has The Terminal List Season 3 Been Confirmed?
Not yet. As of today, October 22, 2026, I could not find any renewal announcement from Prime Video. The show moves slowly. Season 1 arrived in July 2022, and Season 2 took about four years to return, so even if a renewal comes, don’t expect a quick turnaround.
An open ending is also not a promise. Open threads show that the writers have more story to tell, but streaming platforms make the final call. Keep that in mind before you trust any early rumours about a release date.
What Season 2 Leaves Open
The biggest loose end is Oliver Grey. He slips away, and the season ends with a message on his phone suggesting the Colonel has already picked the next target. The Colonel is the hidden figure behind the whole plot, described as a Russian ultranationalist who wants to weaken America. We never get his face or his full motive, which makes him the obvious villain for a follow up.
Reece is another open question. He ends the season with an MRI scan to check on his brain tumour, but the show does not say what the result is. His killing of the billionaire Vasili Andrenov also shows he still struggles with rage, and it cost him a chance to get more answers.
Then there is Katie Buranek. She finishes her book about Reece, titled James Reece: Our True Believer, after surviving an attack. The story does not show it being published, so that could be a big moment later.
What Season 3 Could Explore
If the show returns, a few paths feel likely:
The first is the Colonel’s identity. The season hints that the conspiracy connects to Reece’s family history, including his father, but it never explains why Reece is such a target. A third season could finally answer that.
The second is Grey’s next mission. With the Colonel already choosing a new target, Reece and Raife would have a fresh threat to chase.
The third is Reece himself. Season 2 shifts him from revenge toward something closer to redemption, and his health and anger remain unresolved. Another season could show whether he can finally let go.
The show also has room to grow from the books it is based on. Jack Carr has written more novels in the series, so there is plenty of source material left to adapt.
Should You Catch Up First?
If you are still deciding whether to watch, our review of The Terminal List Season 2 covers the action, Chris Pratt’s performance, and why the slower start pays off. It is also worth watching the prequel series Dark Wolf before you start, since some of the new season’s characters come from there.
For now, Season 3 is a hope, not a fact. The story has more to say, and fans will likely get answers, but only if Prime Video decides to move forward. Until then, the best we can do is watch the finale again and look for clues.
If you are following other renewal questions, we also looked at whether Netflix will bring back The Mothers of Penguins after its shocking Season 2 ending.
