So you’ve just watched Spider-Man: Brand New Day in theatres — or you’re planning to skip the crowds and wait for it at home. Either way, you’re here for one answer: when does this thing actually hit OTT?
Let’s not waste your time. Sony hasn’t announced an official streaming date yet, and honestly, they won’t for a while. The film only released in Indian cinemas on July 30, and with the kind of record-breaking opening it’s pulling, Sony has zero reason to hurry it onto a streaming platform. But the roadmap isn’t a mystery either — Sony’s streaming deals are well documented, and past Spider-Man films tell us almost exactly how this will play out.
It’s Coming To Netflix, Not Disney+ (Yes, Really)
This is the part that confuses a lot of people every single time. Brand New Day is a Marvel movie, so it should land on JioHotstar with the rest of the MCU, right? Wrong. Spider-Man is distributed by Sony Pictures, not Disney, and Sony’s films go to Netflix first under their long-running streaming deal.
That deal also has a catch — a minimum 120-day gap between the theatrical release and the streaming debut. Count 120 days from the end of July and you land in late November 2026. That’s the absolute earliest it could stream, and blockbusters never arrive on day 121.
For a realistic picture, look at what happened last time. Spider-Man: No Way Home released in December 2021 and didn’t reach streaming until July 2022 — nearly seven months. If Brand New Day follows the same pattern (and there’s every indication it will, given how well it’s earning), you’re looking at a Netflix arrival somewhere around January to March 2027. Tentative, yes, but that’s the honest estimate.
Disney+ will eventually get the film too, just much later, in a second licensing window after Netflix has had its run.
Can’t Wait That Long? There’s A Middle Option
Before any subscription platform gets it, the film will show up as a digital rental on Apple TV, Google Play, and similar stores — most likely around September or October 2026. You’ll have to pay per view, but it beats waiting till next year if theatres aren’t an option for you.
That said, if there was ever a Spider-Man film worth the ticket price, it’s this one. We called it Tom Holland’s best outing yet in our Spider-Man Brand New Day review, and the action genuinely deserves a big screen — which makes sense when you see how much Sony spent making it. A six-month spoiler dodge for a film this big is not a game most of us can win.
The Short Answer
No official date yet. Digital rentals tentatively by September-October 2026, Netflix streaming most likely in early 2027, Disney+ much later. We’ll update this page the moment Sony confirms anything, so check back — or just go watch it in theatres like the rest of the country.
