Shaque Trailer Is Out, and Parineeti Chopra’s OTT Debut Looks Intense

A mother's nine-year search for her missing daughter turns into a mystery where nobody is above suspicion

    Shaque Trailer

Nine years is a long time to keep searching for someone, and that’s exactly the emotional weight Parineeti Chopra is carrying into her OTT debut. The trailer for Shaque: Trust No One is finally out, and it wastes no time setting up a story built on grief, obsession, and secrets hiding in plain sight.

    What’s the Story?

The trailer opens right after Parineeti’s character gives birth to a baby girl named Apeksha Dutt, only for the child to be abducted from the hospital moments later. From there, the story jumps nine years ahead, where Parineeti and her husband, played by Tahir Raj Bhasin, are still searching for their daughter and refuse to accept that the case has gone cold.

Things take a genuinely unsettling turn when the couple starts receiving photographs of their missing child. In one scene, Tahir Raj Bhasin’s character tells the police about these photos, and the police point out something chilling.

If the kidnappers have access to pictures of the child, the person responsible is likely someone close to the family. That single detail immediately recontextualizes everyone around Parineeti’s character, turning trusted faces into potential suspects.

Adding another disturbing layer, the trailer suggests someone may be deliberately drugging Parineeti’s character, slowly pushing her toward a state of confusion and instability. It raises a genuinely compelling question at the heart of the show: how far can a mother go when she refuses to give up, and at what point does that determination start looking like obsession instead?

    The Cast Surrounding Her

What stands out immediately in the trailer is just how many familiar, trustworthy-seeming faces are placed under suspicion. The cast includes Jennifer Winget, Anup Soni, Soni Razdan, Sumeet Vyas, Harleen Sethi, and Dhruv Chowdhary, all playing people close to Parineeti’s character. The trailer deliberately frames each of them with a hint of doubt, which is exactly the kind of setup that makes a mystery like this genuinely engaging to watch unfold.

For Parineeti, the role clearly means something personal. Speaking about the project, she described Shaque as unlike anything she’s done before, explaining that the story explores a mother’s instinct and her refusal to give up. Having embraced motherhood in her own life recently, that emotional core seems to have resonated with her in a way that’s shaping how she’s approaching the character.

    Who’s Behind the Series

Shaque: Trust No One is created by Rensil D’Silva and Siddharth P. Malhotra, with D’Silva also directing. It’s produced by Sapna Malhotra and Siddharth P. Malhotra and marks D’Silva’s first project under the Alchemy Films banner with Netflix. For Parineeti Chopra herself, this also marks her first-ever OTT project, a genuinely significant career milestone given how long she’s been a recognizable name in Bollywood.

    Why This One’s Worth Watching

Mystery thrillers built around a missing child are hardly a new format, but Shaque seems to be leaning heavily into the psychological toll of that search rather than just the plot mechanics of solving it. Watching a mother slowly lose faith in the people closest to her, while also questioning her own perception of reality, gives the show a genuinely unsettling emotional core beneath its central mystery.

If mysteries and thrillers are what you’re in the mood for this month, there’s more worth checking out too. The Waiting Hai trailer brings a completely different kind of tension, following a railway scam that spirals into something much bigger, with Divyenndu and Bhuvan Arora leading that chase.

Shaque: Trust No One premieres on Netflix on September 24, 2026.
