What’s the Story?
Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sameer Vidwans, Waiting Hai is set in Patna and follows Sugam Mishra, played by Divyenndu Sharma, a newly appointed Railway Police officer who’s still finding his footing, both professionally and personally. Sugam’s routine gets upended when he starts noticing unusual patterns in how Tatkal tickets are being booked across the system.
On the other side is Bhuvan Arora’s Afroz Hamsa, a computer expert who develops software capable of helping users book confirmed Tatkal tickets with near-guaranteed success. According to the show’s setup, Hamsa’s motivations start fairly harmless; he builds the software hoping to impress a girl. But once that plan doesn’t quite work out, his uncle spots a real business opportunity in the technology, and what begins as a small personal project quickly snowballs into a nationwide network of ticket agents.

Alongside Divyenndu and Bhuvan Arora, the series features Kumud Mishra, Vijay Maurya, Sunita Rajwar, Srushti Tare, and Yashpal Sharma in key supporting roles. Shreyas Jain has written the series, with Jyoti Deshpande and Ajay Rai producing.
Talking about his character, Divyenndu described Sugam as someone still finding his feet professionally while adjusting to married life, calling those everyday struggles one of the things that drew him to the role in the first place.
Arora, meanwhile, said he was drawn to Hamsa specifically because the character conflicted, having genuinely good intentions and slowly getting pulled into wrongdoing, along with the dynamic Hamsa shares with his uncle, played by Vijay Maurya.
For Vidwans, the appeal of Waiting Hai came from getting to explore something rooted in a very familiar part of everyday Indian life, the chaos of Tatkal ticket booking, while blending that familiarity with humour and genuine suspense.
