Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has changed the name of under construction Silver Line to Golden Line. This is one of the first under construction rapid transit line of Delhi Metro. The Golden Line will aim to reduce the increasing traffic, congestion and pollution on roads by connecting South Delhi and Indira Gandhi International Airport. Below are all the latest updates about this metro.
Why was the Name of Silver Line Changed to Golden Line?
DMRC has said that the Silver Line was renamed as Golden Line to avoid the colour confusion. All Delhi Metro Lines have silver coaches and if the DMRC has proceeded with the Silver Line then the newly constructed metro’s colour and the Silver Line would have overlapped. Therefore, DMRC has changed the Silver Line to Golden Line to avoid any confusion.
