Amazfit Helio Strap Pro Brings Next-Level Fitness Tracking for HYROX and Hybrid Athletes

Amazfit's latest screenless fitness tracker adds advanced movement intelligence and HYROX-focused performance insights for serious athletes

Amazfit Helio Strap Pro Brings Next-Level Fitness Tracking for HYROX and Hybrid Athletes

The fitness wearable space is moving fast, and Amazfit’s newest release takes a noticeably different path from the typical smartwatch. Rather than chasing screens and notifications, the Amazfit Helio Strap Pro is built around one goal: understanding how your body actually moves, performs, and recovers during hard training.

The device was unveiled at the HYROX World Championship, and it builds directly on the original Helio Strap with a new dual-sensor setup aimed at athletes who want more than surface-level stats. Amazfit is clearly positioning this as a serious training companion for HYROX competitors and hybrid athletes who train across several disciplines at once.

What Is the Amazfit Helio Strap Pro?

At its core, the Helio Strap Pro is a screenless tracking system that pairs heart rate monitoring with much deeper movement analysis. Most fitness bands only pull data from your wrist, but this one uses two separate sensors to build a fuller picture of what’s happening during a workout.

The first piece is the Helio Core Motion HR sensor, which can sit on your wrist or upper arm. The second is a sensor worn at the waist that tracks your body’s movement and stability while you train. Between the two, the system can measure cardiovascular effort and muscular workload at the same time.

The Biggest Upgrade Over the Original Helio Strap

The headline addition here is that new waist-mounted sensor. The original Helio Strap was mainly about heart rate, recovery, sleep, and general activity tracking. The Pro version goes a step further by adding genuine movement intelligence to the mix.

By positioning a sensor near your body’s center of mass, Amazfit can now read posture, movement quality, stability, and fatigue as you train. That means athletes get a clearer sense not just of how hard they’re working but also of how efficiently they’re moving while doing it.

For HYROX athletes specifically, this could turn out to be a big deal — the system is built to pick up on performance shifts across different race stations and training blocks.

Designed Specifically for HYROX and Hybrid Training

HYROX has exploded in popularity as one of the fastest-growing fitness competitions around, blending running with functional workout stations. The problem is that most fitness trackers weren’t built with this kind of mixed-format training in mind, and they tend to fall short when measuring it accurately.

The Helio Strap Pro tries to close that gap by combining heart rate data with full motion analysis. According to Amazfit, the system can assess muscular load, movement efficiency, and fatigue throughout HYROX training sessions and race simulations.

At launch, most of the advanced motion features are tied to HYROX Race and HYROX Simulation modes, which makes this device especially appealing if that’s the sport you’re training for.

    Battery Life and Sports Tracking

Battery life continues to be one of the Helio lineup’s strongest selling points. Amazfit says the heart rate module can run for up to 11 days per charge, while the waist sensor stretches all the way to 40 days. In practice, that means a lot less time worrying about charging and a lot more time actually training.

The wearable also covers more than 60 sports modes and comes with 5ATM water resistance, so it holds up fine for swimming and outdoor sessions too.

    A Screenless Alternative to Smartwatches

Part of what’s made the Helio series stand out is its screen-free design. A lot of athletes would rather wear something focused purely on health and performance data, without the constant pull of notifications and apps competing for their attention.

The original Helio Strap earned solid praise for delivering sleep tracking, recovery metrics, heart rate monitoring, and strong battery life, all without locking users into a monthly subscription. It was frequently held up against premium platforms like Whoop, while costing considerably less.

The Pro model keeps that same philosophy intact while layering in the kind of advanced training intelligence that serious athletes have been asking for.

Should Existing Helio Strap Users Upgrade?

If you’re a casual user mainly interested in everyday health tracking and recovery insights, the original Helio Strap still holds up well. Most of the core health sensors are shared between both models, so you’re not missing out on the fundamentals.

But if you’re deep into HYROX training, hybrid fitness, or general performance optimization, the new motion-analysis system is likely worth the upgrade. That added waist sensor unlocks an entirely new layer of data that simply didn’t exist on the previous version.

    Why This Launch Matters

Fitness wearables are clearly moving past the era of basic step counts and heart rate numbers. The next wave of devices is about understanding how the body moves, adapts, and holds up under real stress.

With the Helio Strap Pro, Amazfit is betting that athletes want smarter training insights, not just more smartwatch features bolted on. As HYROX and hybrid fitness keep growing worldwide, this could end up being one of the more interesting performance trackers to watch through 2026.
