Phone launches don’t usually come with a themed gift box shaped like a wizard’s trunk, but that’s exactly what Realme has planned for its next release.
The company is bringing a Harry Potter Edition of its 16 Pro to India, set to launch on September 21, and it’s leaning fully into the fandom rather than just slapping a logo on the back.
This isn’t Realme’s first time going down this route either. The brand previously did a Game of Thrones Edition of the Realme 15 Pro, so this Harry Potter collaboration feels like a natural continuation of that same playbook, tying a solid mid-range phone to a franchise with a massive, devoted fanbase.
When and How to Buy It
The launch itself is scheduled for 12 pm IST on September 21. Realme and Flipkart have already put up a dedicated microsite for the phone, giving an early look at its design ahead of the actual reveal, and the phone will be available to purchase through Flipkart right after launch.
Interestingly, this comes at a time when the broader smartphone market is seeing a lot of movement. The Design: Full Hogwarts Mode
Realme has clearly put real thought into the visual theme here. The back of the phone gets a brown leather-style finish paired with an argyle pattern inspired by Wizards Chess, and right in the middle of that rear panel sits the Hogwarts Crest, with Harry Potter branding placed just below it.
The camera module gets its own little Easter egg too. Realme has designed the rear camera housing to take inspiration from Hedwig, shaping the lenses to resemble the owl’s eyes. It’s a small detail, but it’s the kind of thing that fans of the franchise will likely appreciate a lot more than a generic themed wallpaper ever could.

What’s Inside the Special Edition Box
Beyond the phone itself, Realme is putting together a Hogwarts-themed limited-edition gift box, though only 5,000 units will be available, so this is very much a collector’s item rather than something everyone buying the phone will get.
The box itself is designed to resemble Harry Potter’s trunk, and it comes packed with a Hogwarts Welcome Pack that includes an acceptance letter, a train ticket, Hogwarts Crest bookmarks, and character postcards. On top of that, buyers get a phone case featuring the Hogwarts logo and a matching phone pin.
What’s Under the Hood
Realme has revealed some of the hardware specs already, even though the full spec sheet is still under wraps. The phone will feature an AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 6,500 nits of peak brightness, which is genuinely bright for a phone in this segment.
It runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Max chipset and packs a 7,000mAh battery, supporting 80W fast charging along with reverse charging.
On the camera side, expect a 200-megapixel primary sensor paired with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens on the back, and a 50-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.
The regular Realme 16 Pro, which launched in India back in January, already came with the same Dimensity 7300 Max chipset and a 200-megapixel rear camera, so this Harry Potter Edition appears to be building on largely the same core hardware, just wrapped in a considerably more elaborate design.
What We’re Still Waiting On
Realme hasn’t confirmed pricing yet, along with a few other remaining details, but that information is expected to drop around the September 21 launch itself.
