Hanuman Ansh Trailer Review and Release Date: The Inspiring Story of Neem Karoli Baba Comes to the Big Screen

Some films entertain you. Some films stay with you. And occasionally, a film comes along that feels less like a production and more like an act of devotion. Hanuman Ansh, directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, looks like it belongs in that last category.

The official trailer for this spiritual biographical drama has been released, and it’s already generating a quiet but deeply felt response among audiences — particularly those who know the name Neem Karoli Baba and the extraordinary life that name represents. The film releases in cinemas on July 31, 2026.

What the Hanuman Ansh Trailer Shows

The trailer opens on an emotionally heartbreaking note, introducing a young boy devastated by the loss of his mother. That grief becomes the starting point of an entire journey — a child who goes looking for God, hoping to find his way back to the one person he loved most, and who discovers in that search something far larger than himself.

The trailer travels through forests, villages, temples and sacred spaces, capturing both the physical and spiritual path of Maharaj Ji. The visuals are warm and grounded — this isn’t a film reaching for spectacle or visual grandeur. It’s a film trying to capture something true about what faith looks like when it’s lived rather than performed.

Rather than presenting a conventional biopic, the trailer introduces an emotional coming-of-age story rooted in faith, devotion and selfless service. The tone is measured and sincere throughout, which is exactly right for a subject like this one.

Director Vishal Chaturvedi has been open about the creative intent behind what the trailer shows and doesn’t show. “We wanted the trailer to offer only a glimpse of Maharaj Ji’s journey while preserving the deeper emotional and spiritual experience for the big screen,” he said.

    Who Was Neem Karoli Baba?

For those unfamiliar with the name — Shri Neem Karoli Baba was one of India’s most beloved spiritual figures of the 20th century, revered across the country and internationally for his teachings on service, devotion, and the power of Ram Nam.

The film draws inspiration from the widely held belief among followers that Neem Karoli Baba was an ansh — a divine manifestation — of Lord Hanuman. That belief gives the film its title and frames the entire story: not just the biography of a man, but the unfolding of something sacred in human form.

The story follows a grieving boy who seeks God to meet his departed mother, and in finding the divine, learns to serve humanity with miracles of love, food, and silent blessings, becoming Hanuman Ansh — Neem Karoli Baba.

His legacy endures not just in India but globally. Among his well-known followers was Steve Jobs, who visited India in his youth seeking the saint but arrived after his passing.

    The Cast

Hanuman Ansh stars Shobhinaw Satyaa, Vihaan Shedge, Chandan K. Anand, Purnima Tiwari, Anil Rastogi, and Gulshan Pandey.

Shobhinaw Satyaa plays the lead, carrying the weight of portraying one of India’s most spiritually significant figures — a role that clearly demands not just acting ability but a deep understanding of the inner life the character represents.

The Trailer Launch — Something Unique

The way the trailer was released is itself a meaningful part of the story.

The makers unveiled it simultaneously at Hanuman temples, Neem Karoli Baba dhams, and among devotees across India, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada — with Hanuman Chalisa recitations marking the occasion.

It’s a promotional approach that places the film’s spiritual community at the centre of the conversation, rather than the usual industry press circles. That choice says something about who the makers are making this film for and how seriously they are taking the responsibility of telling this particular story.

    The Team Behind the Film

Hanuman Ansh is produced by Ragini S, Namrata G. Singh, Anupriya A. Nagar, and Vishal Chaturvedi under the banner of Swambhu Media Network, with music by Times Music. Cinematography is handled by Vishal Bawa, with editing by Shankh Rajadhyaksha and music composed by Sadhu Sushil Tiwari. The film will be released across India by Cinépolis India.

    Why This Film Matters

Bollywood has made several devotional and mythological films in recent years, but straightforward biographical dramas about India’s 20th-century saints remain rare. Neem Karoli Baba’s life — the miracles attributed to him, the communities he touched, the individuals across the world whose lives were redirected by his presence or his memory — is a story that deserves to be told with care and sincerity.

From what the trailer shows, Hanuman Ansh appears to be approaching that responsibility seriously — choosing emotional honesty over cinematic spectacle, and trusting the life itself to carry the film.

Hanuman Ansh releases in cinemas across India on July 31, 2026.
