Luv Ranjan’s newcomer-led youth drama Pehla Pyaar Doosri Baar is struggling at the box office. The film collected only Rs 2 crore net in India over its opening weekend and is expected to earn around Rs 30 lakh net on Day 4, Monday, October 26, taking its India total to about Rs 2.3 crore net.
Directed by debutant Anuj Saini and produced by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg, the film introduces six new faces. Here is the full Day 4 box office report.

Monday is expected to see a big drop from Sunday, as the film is already running with low occupancy and fewer shows. The final number will be clear once all the night shows are counted.

The film opened with just Rs 50 lakh net on Friday, with only 7% occupancy. It grew on Saturday and Sunday, but the jumps were small. At the same time, its number of shows kept falling, from over 2,100 on Friday to around 1,660 on Sunday, as theatres gave more screens to bigger films.
A Weak Start Compared to Luv Ranjan’s Debut Film
Luv Ranjan has a history of launching new faces in youth films. His debut film, Pyaar Ka Punchnama, released in 2011 with a cast of newcomers and collected over Rs 3.25 crore net in its first weekend, before going on to become a sleeper hit. Pehla Pyaar Doosri Baar’s opening weekend of Rs 2 crore is well below that mark, even 15 years later, when ticket prices are much higher.
Tough Competition at the Box Office
Pehla Pyaar Doosri Baar released on the same day as Ayushmann Khurrana’s Udta Teer, which collected Rs 19.45 crore net in its opening weekend. Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, which has crossed Rs 710 crore worldwide, also took a large share of screens. Among the small releases of the week, Pehla Pyaar Doosri Baar is doing slightly better than films like Tum Mere Ho, but it is far behind the big films.
Pehla Pyaar Doosri Baar Verdict So Far
With such low numbers, the film is heading towards a disappointing theatrical result. Youth dramas with new faces often depend on strong word of mouth to grow over time, but the small weekend jumps and falling show count suggest that is not happening yet. The film’s best chance now may be a longer life on OTT, where newcomer-led films often find a bigger audience.
