    Here’s a list of 14,000 Aadhaar Centres opened across the country amid Unlock 1.0

    The UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) declared on June 4, 2020, that 14,000 Aadhaar Centres have been re-opened. These are reopened all over India following the relaxation of lockdown restrictions amidst ‘Unlock 1.0‘. They will be run by either the state governments, post workplaces, banks, or BSNL.




    This is a significant announcement made by the Aadhaar issuing authority i.e. UIDAI having approval the local authorities as well as the Government.

    In order to apply for a new Aadhaar or to form changes to an existing one, individuals can visit the closest Aadhaar Centre by booking an appointment online. Hence, UIDAI is slowly opening all Aadhaar centers in India after getting authorization from the respective authorities.

    The re-opening of Aadhaar Centres is significantly important as numerous individuals who needed to form changes in their data were left in stagger since the lockdown was imposed by the Government of India. However, the authority or UIDAI permits cardholders to avail the different administrative services like upgrading address online. But for a few other services like applying for a new card, you’ll have to visit Aadhaar Kendra personally.

    Statement by UIDAI

    “Important announcement: As on date, over 14,000 #AadhaarKendra run by state govt, post offices, banks, BSNL are operational across the country. We’re in touch with local administrations for permission to restart operations at other centers ASAP,” UIDAI tweeted.

    List of Cities where Aadhaar centres are opened

    As of now, there are 18 Aadhaar Seva Kendra, propelled in major cities, was too shared by the UIDAI. Moreover, these centres are based in key metros, in conjunction with tier I and tier II cities, like Warangal, Chandigarh, Mysuru, Kota, and Kochi. Also, the Aadhaar-issuing authority said that the following Aadhaar Seva Kendras (Inquires) are presently functional:

    9. Aakash Mall Kota
    10. Ratan Square Lucknow
    11. Vijayanagar Mysuru
    12. Saraswathipuram Mysuru
    13. New Dak Bungalow Road Patna
    14. Padri Bus Stand Raipur
    15. Kantatoli Chowk Ranchi
    16. Labbipet Vijayawada
    17. Dwaraka Nagar Vishakhapatnam
    18. Naimnagar Warangal

    Aadhaar is one of the vital identity records kept up by inhabitants in India. This lead identity record is linked by the Indian government towards the availment of  few subsidies. The Direct bank transfers (DBT), which cut corruption and guaranteed benefits specifically to the poor, was moreover encouraged through the Aadhaar card.

    UIDAI runs around 30 Aadhaar Seva Centres in various regions of the country for which one can book an appointment online. It has moreover expanded the reach of its administrations by permitting the Common Service Centre, an SPV under the Ministry of IT, to begin the Aadhaar updation service at 20,000 centres that work as Banking Correspondents (BCs).
