Should You Delete the IRCTC App After the Launch of RailOne? Know How to Download and Other Details

RailOne app has been officially launched for train travellers in India. The biggest advantage of this app is that it eliminates the need for multiple apps. With just this one app, users can manage all their railway-related needs. Earlier, the Swarail app was available in beta version, but now it has been replaced and fully launched as the RailOne app for everyone.

However, the big question is—should you delete the IRCTC app now that RailOne is available? Before we answer that, let’s understand what exactly RailOne is and why it is being called Indian Railways’ “super app.” First, let’s look at how to download it and its main features.

    How to Download RailOne App

The RailOne app has now been made available for both Android and iOS users.

    • Android users can download it from the Google Play Store.
    • iPhone users can get it from the Apple App Store.
Simply search “RailOne” in the respective store and download it from the list.

Why is the RailOne App Needed?

RailOne is being dubbed as the super app of Indian Railways because it combines multiple services in one place. This eliminates the need for users to install and manage different apps for different services. Through RailOne, passengers can book train tickets, order food on trains, check live train status, and more.

Developed by CRIS (Centre for Railway Information Systems), the app is integrated with IRCTC. It offers services like:

    • IRCTC Reserved Ticket Booking
    • UTS Unreserved Ticket Booking
    • Platform Ticket Booking
    • PNR Status & Live Train Tracking
    • Coach Position Info
    • Rail Madad Complaint and Tracking System
    • R-Wallet (Railway e-Wallet) for easy payments
    • Biometric & mPIN login options for enhanced security
    • Travel Feedback Submission after journey completion

Earlier, passengers needed separate apps such as:

    • IRCTC Rail Connect for reserved ticket bookings
    • UTS for unreserved tickets
    • Rail Madad for complaints
    • eCatering for food orders

Now, all these features are available in just one app—RailOne, which will also help save phone storage and improve user experience.

Should You Delete the IRCTC Rail Connect App?

Now to the main question—should you delete the IRCTC Rail Connect app?
The answer is clear: since RailOne provides all the features previously available through separate apps, including IRCTC Rail Connect, users can now manage bookings and other services through RailOne. So, yes, you can delete the IRCTC app and start using RailOne instead.
