Price Drop Alert: India’s Best-Selling Electric Car Becomes Cheaper by This Much

    MG Windsor

JSW MG Motor India has introduced a new variant in the Windsor Pro lineup, making the electric model even more budget-friendly. The new MG Windsor Pro is now available in an Exclusive variant, priced at ₹17.25 lakh (ex-showroom) for the fixed battery option. For buyers opting for the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, the starting price is ₹12.24 lakh, with a battery rental cost of ₹4.5 per kilometre.

Bookings for the new Exclusive Pro trim have started. The goal of the MG Windsor Exclusive Pro is to offer a more affordable EV option with a larger battery pack—especially for those who can do without features like Level 2 ADAS and a powered electric tailgate. Deliveries for this new variant will begin in the first week of June.

₹85,000 Cheaper than the Top Variant

The new Windsor Exclusive Pro is approximately ₹85,000 cheaper than the top-spec Essence Pro variant. However, this new variant misses out on features such as Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), electrically operated tailgate, vehicle-to-load (V2L), and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging. Still, the Windsor Exclusive Pro retains its beige and black interior, newly designed diamond-cut alloy wheels, and a large 52.9 kWh battery pack.

    Impressive Performance and Customer Response

Talking about the launch, Rakesh Sen, Head of Sales at JSW MG Motor India, said, “The strong response to the MG Windsor Pro is clearly visible, with over 8,000 bookings recorded within just 24 hours of launch. Now, with the launch of the Exclusive Pro variant, we’re expanding the accessibility of MG Windsor, combining a large battery pack with premium comfort and features to bring it closer to more customers.”

Delivers 449 km Range on a Single Charge

The new MG Windsor Pro Exclusive variant offers a driving range of 449 km on a single charge, thanks to its large battery pack. It supports fast charging between 45 kW to 60 kW. Other key features include an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, 9-speaker audio system, rear seats reclining up to 135 degrees, and over 80 connected car features.
