Kohli's brother-in-law signs a deal with Yorkshire County Cricket Club

Anushka Sharma’s brother and the run machine Virat Kohli’s brother-in-law Karnesh Ssharma, owner of the production firm Clean Slate Filmz has announced the partnership of Yorkshire County Cricket Club with his film production house. The Indian film production and distribution company will also be the principal sponsor of Headingley ground in Yorkshire. The production company has become the first firm from India to acquire significant rights at a UK sports stadium. The stadium will also be renamed Clean Slate Headingley.

The Yorkshire County Cricket Club is trying to renew its reputation as a premium sporting club able to handle International cricket matches and events. The club suffered a massive backlash in 2020 for its racist policies revealed by former cricket player Azeem Rafiq. Owing to the derogatory policies, the club has lost a lot of sponsors and was even banned from hosting international cricket.

Here’s how Karnesh Ssharma defined the new endeavour:

Karnesh Ssharma is extremely delighted with the firm’s ventures outside India and hopes that it will bring about a positive change for the involved parties. He described the partnership, “We’re incredibly proud to partner with Yorkshire and be the first Indian company to have their name prominently featured within a UK sports ground. Clean Slate puts inclusivity and diversity at the fore of its entertainment roster, and we truly believe that our entertainment vision and values align with that of Yorkshire County Cricket Club moving forward.”

He further stated, “Our ambition is to helm make the Headingley venture a beacon for equality and inclusivity in Yorkshire and the sport in general. We are looking forward to a great partnership with the club.”

Anushka Sharma’s recent departure from the firm:

Anushka Sharma started the Clean Slate Filmz with her brother back in 2013 but and the duo has produced several of her movies under their production banner, including NH-10 and Phillauri. Nevertheless, the famous actress decided two weeks ago to step away from the production company and shared the same on her Insta profile.
