    IRCTC Special Trains will Run,Regular Trains Canceled

    As the COVID situation is not cooling down in the country some regulations have been passed regarding the Indian railways, IRCTC Special trains will run and trains including Mail/Express trains, passenger, and suburban services stand are to be canceled till 12th August.




    Passengers who have already booked their tickets for the journey date from 01.07.20 to 12.08.20  for Express/passenger trains will receive a complete refund.

    However, the 230 Irctc special trains that have been in the run during the lockdown will continue, the national transporter said. Special Rajdhani and Special Mail/Express services were started on 12 May and 1 June, respectively.




    Earlier this week, the passengers who booked their tickets for regular trains before or on 14th April will be fully refunded, as per the IRCTC. Bookings of a regular train ticket for a date 120 days after 14 April 2020, will be canceled and IRCTC will initiate a full refund automatically.

    30 Rajdhani-like AC trains were started initially, the IRCTC began 200 more trains since 1 June.

    The limited special suburban services which began recently in Mumbai to ferry essential services personnel identified by the local authorities will also continue to run, as per the officials.

    Furthermore, the Ministry of Railways said that apart from these the running of Shramik Special trains will continue to be handled by local State Governments as per the existing protocols.




    The government today said that over 66 lakh Indians made intra-state travels from April 30 to May 12, reflecting a large number of people reaching their homes during the period, according to PTI report.
