    Aadhaar cardholders can update the following details online through the official UIDAI website:

    • Mobile Number

    Penalties for Incorrect Information on Aadhaar

    If you have incorrectly mentioned your name, date of birth, or gender on your Aadhaar, you could face up to three years in jail. Additionally, you may be liable for a fine of up to ₹10,000 or both. If any of these details are incorrect on your Aadhaar, it is essential to update them immediately.

    UIDAI is offering free online updates through the myAadhaar portal until October 2024. This allows users to update their details without any charges.

    How Many Times Can You Change Your Name in Aadhaar?

    You can update your name on Aadhaar only twice. Additionally, you will need several documents to support your name change.

    No Limit on Updating Address in Aadhaar

    There is no limit to how many times you can update your address in Aadhaar. Users can update their address multiple times through the UIDAI self-service portal (ssup.uidai.gov.in).
