Delhi continues to experience fluctuating weather, with a slight improvement in pollution levels on Monday and a rise in minimum temperatures by about 2°C over the past two days. However, forecasts predict a significant temperature drop over the next five days.
IMD Forecasts Moderate Fog and Temperature Dip
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast moderate fog for Delhi on Monday, with maximum and minimum temperatures expected to be around 28°C and 12°C, respectively. By November 30, the minimum temperature is predicted to drop to 10°C, accompanied by a 3°C decrease in the maximum temperature.

Air Quality Improves, But Concerns Persist
Delhi’s air quality improved significantly on the morning of November 24, with the AQI dropping to the ‘poor’ category at 279 by 5:30 AM, compared to 357 at 8 AM on Sunday. Despite the improvement, the air quality remains a concern, especially with the expected temperature drop. As temperatures fall, smog levels are likely to worsen due to reduced wind speeds. The IMD predicts surface winds from the northwest at less than 8 km/h during the morning hours on November 25.
Although the AQI has improved, even “poor” air quality remains unsuitable for outdoor activities like walking or exercising. Delhiites can only breathe easier once the AQI falls below 100.
With GRAP-4 restrictions in place, the Supreme Court continues to monitor the enforcement of pollution curbs, and the issue of air quality may also be raised during Parliament’s Winter Session. The Congress has moved an adjournment notice on the matter.
