Deadline of Aadhaar Card, PAN Card linking and ITR filling extended

The income tax department once again made decision of extending the deadline for linking of your PAN Card and Aadhaar card. Your deadline is extended till March 31, 2020 to link your Aadhaar card with PAN card.





Due to Covid-19 outbreak, the central government has decided to extend various deadlines including ITR Filling. As per the guidelines issued by the government, the deadline to file belated and revised tax return for FY 2018-19 has also been further extended to July 31, 2020.

The deadline for making tax-saving investments and expenditures to claim tax breaks under Section 80C, 80D etc has also been further extended to July 31 from the earlier deadline of June 30,2020.




The date for issuance of TDS certificates i.e. Form 16, Form 16A etc. has been extended to August 15, 2020.
Deadline extend of linking Aadhaar with PAN
In order to provide relief to small and middle class taxpayers, the date for payment of self-assessment tax in the case of a taxpayer whose self-assessment tax liability is up to Rs. 1 Lakh has also been extended to 30th November, 2020.




However, it is clarified that there will be no extension of date for the payment of self-assessment tax for the taxpayers having self-assessment tax liability exceeding Rs. 1 lakh. In this case, the whole of the self-assessment tax shall be payable by the due date.

How to link Pan Card with Aadhaar Card

To link your PAN with your Aadhaar Number, you can follow any of the following measures:

  1. Visit the e-filing Website.
  2. Enter your PAN, your Aadhaar number and your name, as mentioned on it.
  3. Tick the dialog boxes where it seems necessary.
  4. Enter the captcha code provided below.
  5. Click on ‘Link Aadhaar’ Button.

You can also link PAN with your phone. Open your messaging application. Type UIDPAN<12-digit Aadhaar><10-digit PAN> and send it to 567678 or 56161 from your RMN (Registered Mobile Number).
