Yesterday, the government extended the last date for linking Aadhaar Card with ration Card. As per the new guidelines, every ration cardholder should now link their Aadhar Card with their Ration Card till September 30, 2020.
The linking of the details experienced a sudden breakage as people were forced to go indoors. Also, the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution has issued public notice.
As per these norms, all states and union territories are ordered that no particular individual should be denied from their quota of staple food grains on the ground of not possessing an Aadhaar number.
This notice defines the new rules regarding a fair distribution all over the country. And this applies also on their ration cards which should not be canceled in the absence of the Aadhaar.
But now, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has provided an online portal where any Indian citizen who is eligible for a Ration Card can now link it with their Aadhaar.
Follow these below mentioned steps to link your Aadhaar Card with your Ration Card.
Step 1: Visit the official website of the UIDAI. (uidai.gov.in)
Step 2: Click on the ‘Start Now’ button.
Step 3: Enter your address details. This will include your District or Tehsil and State.
Step 4: From the available options, select the benefit type as “Ration Card”.
Step 5: After entering the benefit, choose the scheme name as “Ration Card” also.
Step 6: Now, enter your particular ration card number, Aadhaar number, a working e-mail address, and your mobile number. Make sure you have this number with you while registration.
Step 7: After registration, enter the one-time password (OTP) that will be sent to the above mentioned mobile number. A notification will pop up which means that the application process has been completed.
Step 8: Now, your entered details will be verified through UIDAI Portal. After successful verification, the process of linkage gets completed.
Till now, around 85 percent of the 80 crore beneficiaries have linked their Aadhaar Card with their Ration Card. The remaining individuals are requested to link their one to exercise the latest rules of food distribution in their areas.
