Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma recently uploaded a photo of herself and was seen promoting benefits Oil Pulling, an Ayurvedic technique that is used to clean out mouth against microbes, bacterias and tackle natural oil formation. The technique allows good dental health and detoxifies your body.

Having a strong sense of Fitness and promoting natural remedies for keeping healthcare, Anushka has been seen many times uploading photos related to many health benefits on Instagram. Voicing her inner spirit, the 32-year old actress uploaded a photo today of herself with her pet dog. 

Anushka wrote: “My morning ritual of Oil pulling in the company of my sweet-smoosh-doggo Dude! Oil pulling is an ancient Ayurvedic practice known as “Kavala” or “gundusha”, a dental technique that involves swishing little oil in your mouth on an empty stomach for few minutes and then spitting it out”.

Sheryl Salis, R.D., C.D.E., and an expert on the topic shares her insights that the practice is regarded as an Ayurveda technique that dates back to almost 3,000 years. The technique involves the usage of virgin coconut oil. The oil is to be put into our mouth and swished for 3-5 minutes. 

After the exercise, the doer needs to spit out the oil and do normal gargling with warm water, followed by a brush. Sheryl suggests that swishing via oil has many benefits like helps your mouth to fight the formation of germs, bacterias, and microbes, reduces bad bad breath, prevents cavities thus promoting oral hygiene.

Using Virgin Coconut Oil to Build Immunity 

Coconut oil is a staple ingredient in Indian households. While it is used in a variety of food items, consuming coconut oil on a regular basis brings great health benefits too. The oil is rich in Lauric acid and contains Vitamin E which improves the overall immunity of our body. 



Experts suggest that adding two spoons of coconut oil in your daily diet could enrich your vitamin potent. The Medium Chain Fatty Acids or MCFAs which contain Lauric acid and Caprylic acid strengthens the immune system and possess anti-viral properties. Thus bringing a holistic and healthy lifestyle. 

 

How To Do Oil Pulling?

  1. Take 1-2 spoon of coconut oil in your mouth. 
  2. Swish it in your insides, both above and down below the gums and teeth. 
  3. Hold it for about 3-5 minutes and spit it out. 
  4. Now, clean off your insides with the help of warm water. 
  5. Finally, brush your teeth with regular toothpaste. 
  6. Repeat the steps for 2 to 3 times a week to see the results. 

Meanwhile, do maintain regular health care with a complete diet. The technique does not bring a complete diet balance all alone. Alongside this technique, you are also advised to eat home-cooked foods, green vegetables, fruits and avoid junk or oily food intakes as much as possible.
