Ramayana Box Office Collection Day 2: Ranbir Kapoor’s Film Crosses Rs 75 Crore After Rs 64.85 Crore Opening

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part 1 has opened with Rs 64.85 crore net in India on Day 1, as per Sacnilk, and is now in its first Friday at the box office. The Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi starrer had collected around Rs 13.16 crore net on Day 2 by the afternoon, as per early live tracking, taking its India total past Rs 75 crore.

Worldwide, the film grossed Rs 121.62 crore on its opening day, as per Bollywood Hungama. Here is the latest Ramayana box office collection Day 2 report.

Ramayana Day 1 Final Collection: Rs 64.85 Crore Net

Ramayana: Part 1 earned Rs 64.85 crore net in India on its opening day, Thursday, November 5, as per Sacnilk. The India gross stood at Rs 77.50 crore, with an overall occupancy of 36% across around 25,200 shows.

Bollywood Hungama has reported a slightly lower Day 1 figure of Rs 62.47 crore net. The difference is normal on opening day, as trackers count shows in different ways.

Day 1 Collection by Language

The Hindi version brought in nearly three-fourths of the business. Kannada was once again the strongest of the dubbed versions, helped by Yash’s huge fan base in Karnataka.

The opening came in below the Rs 70 crore to Rs 100 crore range that trade estimates had predicted before release. Even so, it is one of the biggest opening days ever for a Bollywood film, and it came on a working Thursday.

Ramayana Day 2 Collection: Friday Trend

As expected, collections have dropped on Day 2, which is a working Friday, two days before Diwali. Early tracking shows the film at around Rs 13.16 crore net by the afternoon, with morning occupancy at 17.34% and afternoon occupancy at 19.67%.

The film had a strong advance for Friday. Its Day 2 pre-sales stood at Rs 27.09 crore gross including blocked seats, and Rs 22.04 crore without them, from about 7.35 lakh tickets as of Thursday night. Evening and night shows usually bring the biggest share of business, so the final Day 2 figure is expected to be much higher than the afternoon number.

Ramayana Day 1 Worldwide Box Office

These worldwide figures are as per Bollywood Hungama. Ramayana fell short of Adipurush’s opening day worldwide gross of around Rs 140 crore, which remains the biggest worldwide opening for an Indian mythological film.

Ramayana’s opening is ahead of Ranbir Kapoor’s own Animal and Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, but behind Jawan.

Ramayana Box Office Day 3 and Diwali Weekend

The big test for the film starts on Saturday. Ramayana’s Day 3 advance booking had already reached Rs 31.26 crore gross by early Friday morning, higher than its Day 2 advance, as per Sacnilk.

With Diwali on Sunday, November 8, family audiences are expected to turn up in large numbers over the weekend. Positive word of mouth for the VFX, Ranbir Kapoor’s performance as Ram and Yash’s Raavan could help the film grow from Saturday.
