Waiting Hai Trailer Review: Divyenndu and Bhuvan Arora in a Railway Scam Drama

Divyenndu and Bhuvan Arora face off in a scam dramedy set around India's railway ticketing system

A small hack meant to impress a girl turning into a nationwide ticket scam sounds almost too specific to be fictional, and that’s exactly the kind of grounded, slightly absurd energy Waiting Hai is banking on. The trailer for this railway ticketing scam dramedy dropped on September 10, and it wastes no time setting up a genuinely interesting cat-and-mouse dynamic between its two leads.

    What’s the Story?

Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sameer Vidwans, Waiting Hai is set in Patna and follows Sugam Mishra, played by Divyenndu Sharma, a newly appointed Railway Police officer who’s still finding his footing, both professionally and personally. Sugam’s routine gets upended when he starts noticing unusual patterns in how Tatkal tickets are being booked across the system.

On the other side is Bhuvan Arora’s Afroz Hamsa, a computer expert who develops software capable of helping users book confirmed Tatkal tickets with near-guaranteed success. According to the show’s setup, Hamsa’s motivations start fairly harmless; he builds the software hoping to impress a girl. But once that plan doesn’t quite work out, his uncle spots a real business opportunity in the technology, and what begins as a small personal project quickly snowballs into a nationwide network of ticket agents.

The trailer leans into that escalation nicely, showing Hamsa and his growing circle of associates trying to stay a step ahead of the authorities, while Sugam slowly pieces together just how deep and widespread the operation actually is.

The Personal Side of the Story

Waiting Hai isn’t purely procedural either. The trailer also gives a glimpse into Sugam’s home life, particularly his relationship with his wife Princy, played by Harshita Gaur. Between pressure from his superiors at work and the everyday friction of adjusting to married life, Sugam’s plate is already full before this case lands on his desk, and that personal strain adds a layer of relatability to what could otherwise be a straightforward crime chase.

At its core, the show plays with an interesting contrast: Hamsa’s technical fluency and understanding of how to exploit the system versus Sugam’s slower, more methodical effort to track down the people actually running it. The trailer teases plenty of questions around how the network operates, how its agents dodge detection, and who’s really pulling the strings behind the scenes.

    Waiting Hai Cast and Crew

Alongside Divyenndu and Bhuvan Arora, the series features Kumud Mishra, Vijay Maurya, Sunita Rajwar, Srushti Tare, and Yashpal Sharma in key supporting roles. Shreyas Jain has written the series, with Jyoti Deshpande and Ajay Rai producing.

Talking about his character, Divyenndu described Sugam as someone still finding his feet professionally while adjusting to married life, calling those everyday struggles one of the things that drew him to the role in the first place.

Arora, meanwhile, said he was drawn to Hamsa specifically because the character conflicted, having genuinely good intentions and slowly getting pulled into wrongdoing, along with the dynamic Hamsa shares with his uncle, played by Vijay Maurya.

For Vidwans, the appeal of Waiting Hai came from getting to explore something rooted in a very familiar part of everyday Indian life, the chaos of Tatkal ticket booking, while blending that familiarity with humour and genuine suspense.

    Where and When to Watch

Waiting Hai starts streaming on Prime Video and MX Player from September 16, 2026. If you’re building out your watchlist for the next couple of weeks, there’s plenty else worth checking out too.

The VIBE trailer brings a completely different kind of chaos with its action-comedy energy, while Lust Stories 3’s trailer offers a fresh take on modern love if you’re in the mood for something more intimate. Between all three, this September is shaping up to be a genuinely varied month for new releases.
