Starlink is expected to launch in India soon. The company has partnered with Jio and Airtel to sell its equipment. However, the Indian government has not yet granted permission for Starlink to start its services. This has led many people to wonder about its pricing.
Starlink offers multiple plans in the US and other countries. To get an idea of its potential pricing in India, we can look at Bhutan, where Starlink is already available. Since the exchange rate of the Indian Rupee (INR) and Bhutanese Ngultrum (BTN) is almost the same, Bhutan’s prices can help us estimate the cost of Starlink services in India.
Hardware Costs for Starlink
In Bhutan, the Standard Kit costs 33,000 BTN, excluding shipping charges. The Flat High-Performance Kit costs 231,000 BTN plus shipping, while the Mini Starlink Kit costs 17,000 BTN plus shipping.

- Flat High-Performance Kit is meant for businesses and enterprises.
It is likely that similar hardware costs will apply in India.

Expected Pricing for Starlink Plans in India
There is no official confirmation about Starlink’s pricing in India yet, but Bhutan’s pricing gives us a rough estimate.
In Bhutan:
- The Residential Plan costs 4,200 BTN per month and offers speeds between 25–110 Mbps.
- The Priority Plan (for businesses) offers speeds of 50–220 Mbps and comes in four options:
- 40GB – 5,900 BTN/month
- 1TB – 18,000 BTN/month
- 2TB – 36,000 BTN/month
- 6TB – 106,000 BTN/month
- After exceeding the data limit, users are charged 35.20 BTN per GB.
Another plan, Roam, starts at 4,200 BTN and offers only 40GB of data. The company also offers a Mobile Priority Plan, starting at 21,000 BTN for 50GB of data.
For budget-conscious users, the Residential Lite Plan is available for 3,000 BTN per month.
Will Starlink Offer Special Plans in India?
It is possible that Starlink will launch plans at similar prices in India. The company may also introduce attractive offers to attract new customers. However, Starlink has not yet received government approval to operate in India. Until then, its official pricing and launch date remain uncertain.
