The Waking of a Nation Review – A Powerful Story of Truth and Betrayal

The Waking of a Nation is a gripping series set during one of the darkest times in Indian history – the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The series tells the story of a young lawyer, Kantilal Sahni (played by Taaruk Raina), who finds himself caught in a dangerous web of colonial lies and injustice. As he struggles against racism and hidden truths, he joins hands with his childhood friends – Hari Singh Aulakh (Bhawsheel Singh), Ali Allahbaksh (Sahil Mehta), and Poonam (Nikita Dutta). Together, they try to expose the shocking truth behind the British empire’s control over history.

A Story of Struggle and Friendship
At the heart of the series is Kantilal Sahni, a dedicated lawyer who believes in justice. However, he soon realises that the legal system is designed to favour the British rulers. The Hunter Commission, set up to investigate the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, is nothing but a tool to hide the truth. As Kantilal fights against this injustice, he faces racial discrimination and threats from powerful forces.

Despite their differences, Kantilal and his friends come together in their fight for truth. Hari Singh, Ali, and Poonam share a strong bond with Kantilal, built from childhood. Their loyalty and courage push them to uncover a shocking conspiracy that could change their lives forever. But in a world where justice is an illusion, can they survive and expose the truth?
