    7 Delicious Dishes to Eat While Fasting in Navratri

    Navratri is here, and it’s that time of year when devotees of Goddess Durga celebrate with joy and devotion. In India, festivals are not complete without fasting and feasting. To make this special time even better, we have some easy and healthy Satvik recipes you can try at home. These dishes are made with simple ingredients that give you lots of nutrition and help with digestion and weight management, making it easier to keep the fasts during the 9 days. Let’s take a look at these easy recipes.

    7 Delicious Dishes to Eat While Fasting in Navratri

    Sabudana Khichdi

    This is a popular fasting dish made with soaked sabudana (sago pearls), boiled potatoes, and peanuts. Heat 1 teaspoon of ghee and fry cumin seeds, peanuts, and green chilies. Add the soaked sabudana and mix well. Season with sendha namak (rock salt).

    Singhare Ke Aloo

    This is a simple dish made with boiled and mashed water chestnuts and potatoes. Add ginger, green chilies, cumin, and black pepper to taste, and bind the mixture with singhare ka atta (water chestnut flour). Shape them into small patties and shallow fry or bake until crispy. Serve with green chutney.

    Methi Thepla

    A traditional Gujarati dish, Methi Thepla is made with whole wheat flour and fenugreek leaves. Serve it with yogurt or pickle for a delicious and filling meal, perfect during fasting.

    Palak Chaat

    Make a healthy version of chaat by using baked or roasted spinach leaves. Top them with yogurt, tamarind chutney, and spices for a crunchy, tangy snack that’s guilt-free.

    Fruit Chaat

    Mix your favorite fruits like apples, bananas, and pomegranates. Sprinkle with chaat masala for a refreshing and energy-boosting snack.

    Stuffed Paneer Tikka

    Marinate paneer cubes in yogurt and spices, then grill or bake them with bell peppers and onions. This protein-rich dish is tasty and makes a great starter.

    Coconut Ladoo

    For a simple and nutritious treat, cook grated coconut in 1 teaspoon of ghee, and mix it with a syrup made from dates. Add nuts and seeds, then shape the mixture into small balls. Roll the ladoos in desiccated coconut and enjoy!
