Toyota Kirloskar Motor has introduced the new Urban Cruiser Hyryder Aero Black Edition in India. As the name suggests, this limited-edition version gives the SUV a darker look by replacing several exterior chrome and silver elements with black finishes.
The Aero Black Edition is not a new mechanical variant. Instead, it is a styling package aimed at buyers who want their Hyryder to look sportier and more distinctive. The package is priced at Rs 31,999 and will be available for a limited period, subject to stock availability.
Toyota Hyryder Aero Black Edition Price
The Aero Black package is available on selected G and V variants of the Hyryder. It can be chosen with both Neo Drive petrol and strong-hybrid powertrains, but the package is offered only with the Midnight Black exterior colour.
The regular G(O) petrol and V variants are priced at Rs 14.87 lakh and Rs 16.42 lakh, respectively. With the Aero Black package added, their prices rise to around Rs 15.19 lakh and Rs 16.74 lakh, respectively.
The Rs 31,999 package is available through Toyota dealerships. The company is also offering an optional dealer-level All Black Package at an additional cost.
What Does the Aero Black Edition Get?
The biggest change is on the outside. Toyota has added several black-finished elements to give the Hyryder a more aggressive appearance.
The package includes a black finish for parts such as the front grille garnish, front spoiler, headlamp garnish, tailgate garnish and rear spoiler. Some of the chrome detailing around the headlights, grille and tailgate has also been blacked out.
The silver-finished section on the lower front bumper is replaced with a black treatment. An exclusive Aero Black Limited Edition badge is also added to make the special version easier to identify.
These are purely cosmetic changes, so buyers should not expect any increase in engine power or changes to the suspension, gearbox or driving setup.
No Mechanical Changes
Toyota has kept the Hyryder’s existing powertrain lineup unchanged. Depending on the variant, buyers can choose from petrol, CNG and strong-hybrid options.
The 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine produces 103hp and 137Nm of torque. It is available with either a five-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed torque-converter automatic transmission.
The petrol version can also be specified with two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, depending on the variant.
For buyers choosing the CNG version, the same 1.5-litre engine produces 88hp and 121.5Nm in CNG mode. The CNG model is available with a five-speed manual gearbox.

Hyryder Strong Hybrid Powertrain
The strong-hybrid version uses a 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine combined with an electric motor. The combined system produces 115hp.
The electric motor gets energy from a 0.60kWh lithium-ion battery pack, while an e-CVT handles transmission duties. The strong-hybrid version sends power to the front wheels.
This setup is aimed at buyers who want better fuel efficiency and a smoother driving experience, especially in city traffic.

Toyota Hyryder Continues to Grow
The Urban Cruiser Hyryder has become an important model for Toyota in India’s competitive midsize SUV market. The company says the SUV has crossed the two-lakh sales milestone since its launch in 2022.
The Aero Black Edition comes at a time when buyers are increasingly looking for factory-backed styling options that make their cars look different from standard versions.
With this edition, Toyota has chosen to focus on appearance rather than performance. The blacked-out exterior details, Midnight Black paint and special badge give the Hyryder a more premium and sporty character, while the familiar engines and hybrid system remain unchanged.
For buyers who already like the Hyryder but want a more distinctive appearance, the Aero Black Edition offers a relatively simple way to get that look without waiting for a major update to the SUV.
