Tires Season 3 Review: Shane Gillis Finally Finds the Perfect Balance

Netflix's raunchy workplace comedy trades big-name cameos for a tighter focus on its core cast, resulting in the best and most confident season of the series so far.

Tires Season 3 Review: Shane Gillis Finally Finds the Perfect Balance

    Tires Season 3 Review: ★★★★☆ (4/5)

Tires Season 3 is Shane Gillis’ Netflix comedy at its most confident, doubling down on its core cast and adding surprising emotional depth without losing its off-the-wall humor. It is easily the strongest season yet.

    Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5)
    Platform: Netflix
    Genre: Comedy
    Episodes: 12
Cast: Shane Gillis, Steve Gerben, Stavros Halkias, Kilah Fox, Thomas Haden Church

Tires started as a scrappy little six-episode gamble back in 2024, with Shane Gillis reportedly taking out a loan just to get the show made. Fast forward to Season 3, and that gamble has clearly paid off. What began as a low-budget, fly-on-the-wall workplace comedy has grown into one of Netflix’s most consistently funny original shows, and this new season proves the series has finally found its groove.

The show is set at Valley Forge Auto Shop, where Shane, played by Gillis himself, and his cousin Will, played by co-creator Steve Gerben, navigate the chaos of running a struggling tire business while constantly bickering like brothers.

Their dynamic sits at the heart of the show, full of insults and jabs that never actually feel mean-spirited underneath. It is the kind of workplace camaraderie fans of shows like The Office or Parks and Recreation will recognize instantly, just with a much raunchier, Netflix-appropriate edge.

    Tires Season 3 Review

Season 2 leaned heavily on star power, bringing in big names like Vince Vaughn and Jon Lovitz to help build buzz. Season 3 takes a smarter approach. Instead of chasing more celebrity cameos, the show trusts its own world and characters.

Longtime supporting players like Stavros Halkias as the sleazy Dave and Kilah Fox as the brutally honest Kilah finally get real room to shine, and the show feels stronger for it. Thomas Haden Church continues to be a great addition as Shane’s demanding father, Phil, pushing Shane and Will to take their jobs seriously while clearly enjoying every second of playing the role.

New additions this season also work well within the show’s established world. Comedians like Andrew Schulz, Joe DeRosa, and H. Foley slot naturally into the Tires universe rather than feeling like guest stars just passing through for a quick Netflix credit. H. Foley in particular stands out as the unhinged tire salesman Pete Siedel, quickly becoming one of the season’s funniest additions.

Of course, Tires is not a show for everyone. Its humor leans old-school and raunchy, with a mostly male-driven perspective that will not land for every viewer. Whether you find that nostalgic or a little much really comes down to personal taste rather than the show’s actual quality. For those already on board with the series’ sensibility, though, there is plenty here to enjoy.

What is genuinely surprising about Season 3 is how it manages to add real emotional depth without ever losing its comedic footing. Shane, in particular, is forced to confront his own immaturity this season, a man approaching 40 who has spent most of his life coasting on humor instead of actually growing up.

It is a subtle change, never overplayed, but it gives his character more weight than in previous seasons. Nearly every character this season is quietly dealing with something, whether it is a sense of failure or personal struggles they would rather joke away than face directly. The show never turns preachy about it, choosing instead to let these moments sit gently underneath the comedy.

Technically, the pacing continues to work in the show’s favor. Jumping from six episodes in Season 1 to twelve in both Season 2 and Season 3 could easily have led to filler, but the writing team keeps each twenty-five-minute episode brisk and purposeful. The show remains an easy, breezy binge from start to finish.

Tires was never trying to be prestige television, and it still is not. What it is, though, is a genuinely funny, well-cast workplace comedy that has grown more confident with each season. For fans who enjoyed the first two seasons, Season 3 delivers exactly what you would hope for, and then some.

Tires Season 3 is now streaming on Netflix.
