Thailand Introduces E-Visa for Indians- Know When & Where to Apply

Starting January 1, 2025, Thailand will introduce an Electronic Visa (e-Visa) system for Indian citizens, simplifying the process of applying for all visa types online. The Thai Embassy in New Delhi shared the update, outlining key features and benefits of the new system.

Key Details of the e-Visa System

The e-Visa system will enable applicants to submit visa applications individually or through a representative via the official website, thaievisa.go.th. However, the embassy clarified it will not take responsibility for incomplete applications submitted by representatives.

    What is the e-Visa System?
The e-Visa system is a digital platform allowing Indian citizens to apply for Thai visas online, streamlining the entire process.

    Benefits of the e-Visa System

    • Simplified application process.
    • Reduced paperwork.
    • Faster processing times.

    Payment and Processing Details

Visa fees must be paid offline, with specific payment options to be detailed by the embassy and consulates. Applicants should note that visa fees are non-refundable.

Once the payment is received, the embassy will process applications within approximately 14 working days, ensuring a faster turnaround compared to traditional methods.

    60-Day Visa Exemption Continues

Indian passport holders will continue to enjoy the 60-day visa exemption for tourism and short business trips, with no changes announced.

This new e-Visa system aims to make travel to Thailand more convenient for Indians. Additional details will be released closer to the implementation date.
