Tezpur University was founded on January 21, 1994, by an Act of Parliament of India. Tezpur University is a Central University located at Napaam, perhaps the 15-kilometre North-Eastern State of Assam. Many facilities and infrastructure are provided by TU (Tezpur University) for the aspirants – Faculty Lab, ICT Resource, Indoor and Outdoor Game Facilities, Hostel Facilities, Smart Classroom, Seminar Hall, Central Library, Physiological Library, Multipurpose Hall, Conference room Wi-Fi etc.

ICT Resource – Centre of the department has new and modern computers to best facilitate the aspirants with related skills. The computers are equipped with the Internet and UPS to meet the needs of aspirants, faculty and research scholars. It is also the latest and new version software and digital projector, which can be used by the faculties for presentations.

Central Library – At the present, the library boasts of about 91209 books, 10,000+ journals, online system databases, CDs and 9661 back volumes of journals.

The department of Education has a library cum reading room which caters to the research and educational needs of the academic community. These books are used by students in the department. The library was opened by the University functioning since 1994.

Health Service – The Tezpur University has a Health Centre providing health care services to aspirants and university employees and their families with its own paramedical and medical members. The Tezpur University Health Centre has over 5000 beneficiaries, like the people working at the University construction sites.

One Medical expert is always available for 24 hours on emergency duty. Ambulance service is available for 24 hours. Advanced equipment, like Auto Analyser, Hormone Analyser Ultrasound scanning, X-ray and ECG, required for laboratory works are made available at the health care centre for the benefit of the Tezpur University community. A stock of common medications, including lifesaving drugs, is supplied free of cost.

The Psychology Laboratory – The Psychology division has a Psychology laboratory which is equipped with various tools for the syllabus connected to psychological research. The laboratory serves the various needs of M.Ed, B.Ed aspirants.
