Reema Kagti’s Superboys of Malegaon is a soul-stirring and inspiring tale that celebrates the passion and resilience of small-town dreamers. Based on a true story and inspired by the 2008 documentary Supermen of Malegaon, the film brings to life the struggles and triumphs of Nasir Shaikh and his friends as they chase their dream of making a film in a place where Bollywood rules and resources are scarce.
Set in 1994 Malegaon, the film follows Nasir, played brilliantly by Adarsh Gourav, a movie lover who screens English classics, only to realize that his town prefers mass-entertainers. After his theatre is shut down for piracy, he refuses to give up on cinema. Instead, he decides to make his own film, Malegaon ka Sholay. With the help of his quirky yet dedicated friends, played by Shashank Arora, Vineet Singh, and Anuj Singh Duhan, they embark on an unbelievable journey of low-budget filmmaking, filled with obstacles, creativity, and laughter.
