FIFA World Cup 2022 is in full swing in Qatar and the Indians are cheering for their favourites like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. However, we all feel in our hearts that if India had been in the FIFA World Cup 2022 we could all have supported our home team with all we have got. India has never been a part of the FIFA World Cup. In 1950 India had a choice to participate after many other nations withdrew from the competition but the Indian football management also backed down at the last moment. Since then we still await the chance to compete in FIFA World Cup 2022.
Latest Ranking of India in FIFA
The current ranking of the Indian team in FIFA is 106 which is quite dismal, to say the least. It was 104 a month ago but the Indian team’s ranking has slipped again. Despite being so talented we people are nowhere closer to making it to the FIFA World Cup in future. The Indian women’s soccer team is ranked 59 in FIFA which is also isn’t impressive at all.

Also, shockingly India has been suspended from international football by FIFA after it was discovered in August 2022 that the All India Football Federation is involved in malicious practices. To say the least our football future is disgraceful right now. But we can change with new management at AIFF that adheres to the rules of FIFA and provides ample opportunities to the young talent across India.
