Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan’s spy comedy Udta Teer is set for a good jump at the box office on its first Saturday. After opening at Rs 4.10 crore net in India on Friday, the film is expected to collect around Rs 5.9 crore net on Day 2, Saturday, October 24. That would take its two-day India total to about Rs 10 crore net.

How Udta Teer Performed on Day 1
Udta Teer opened with Rs 4.10 crore net and Rs 4.83 crore gross in India across more than 6,200 shows. Like most comedies, it started slow, with morning shows at around 5% occupancy. The numbers then grew through the day, and night shows reached about 25% occupancy. That steady rise from morning to night showed that the audience that did turn up liked the film, and that set it up well for the weekend.
The opening is the fourth-best for Ayushmann Khurrana since the pandemic, ahead of Doctor G and Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, and just short of Pati Patni Aur Woh Do.

Strong Advance Booking for Sunday
The early signs for the weekend are encouraging. Advance bookings for Sunday crossed Rs 2.5 crore gross, with nearly 88,000 tickets sold, even before Saturday’s shows began. That is more than twice the advance sales the film had for its opening day, which points to a strong Sunday.
Udta Teer Opening Weekend Prediction
If Saturday comes in as expected and Sunday grows further, Udta Teer could collect around Rs 7 crore to Rs 7.5 crore net on Day 3. That would give it an opening weekend of about Rs 17 crore net in India, at the top end of early trade estimates.
