No Mercy for Road Hooligans! Now You Can Issue Challans Using a Government App – It’s Super Easy

Often in the absence of traffic police, people openly flout traffic rules on Indian roads. From parking in ‘No Parking’ zones to driving on the wrong side, such violations are quite common. However, now you can play an active role in putting a stop to this. Thanks to a special mobile app developed by the traffic police, you can now report traffic violations and help issue challans yourself, and the process is very simple.

    Install the Government App

To report traffic violations, you’ll need to download the Traffic Prahari app, developed by the Delhi Traffic Police. This app allows citizens to report traffic violations with photo or video evidence. You can report incidents such as wrong parking, driving without a helmet, jumping red lights, etc., anonymously. The app enables users to directly notify traffic police, ensuring faster and more transparent action. It’s a great way to involve the public in improving road safety.

How to Report a Violation (Help Issue a Challan)

    1. Login to the Traffic Prahari app using your mobile number.
    2. Enter the OTP received, then provide your username and email ID.
    3. You’ll see two options: Report Offence and Reported Offence.
      • To check the status of a previously submitted report, select Reported Offence.
      • To submit a new report, select Report Offence.
    4. Provide the details of the violation:
      • Upload a photo or video.
      • Select the type of violation (e.g., Dangerous Driving, Wrong Side Driving).
      • Enter the vehicle number.
      • Provide the location, date, and time of the incident.
      • You can also leave a comment if you’d like.

With these simple steps, you can help issue challans to anyone violating traffic rules.

    What Happens Next?

Once you submit a report, traffic police officials will review the evidence you provided. If the person is found guilty of breaking traffic laws, a challan will be issued under the appropriate legal section. You can track the status of your report directly within the app.

This app empowers citizens to actively contribute to better traffic discipline and road safety.
