Low on Budget but Want to Travel Abroad? Here Are the Cheapest Tourist Destinations for Indians

In recent years, the trend of travelling to foreign tourist destinations has grown significantly among Indians. However, many people still hesitate to travel abroad due to budget constraints. If you’re thinking of going on a trip abroad but are delaying your plans because of money issues, here are some countries around the world where Indians can travel at a relatively low cost.

    Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan is a country where you can enjoy beautiful tourist destinations without the hassle of applying for a visa. The best time to visit is from June to September. If you’re flying from Delhi, a one-way flight will cost you around ₹12,000, which means a round trip would cost approximately ₹24,000.

    Vietnam

Vietnam is famous for its beaches and rivers. The cheapest flights are usually available from Kolkata or Delhi. You can fly to cities like Ho Chi Minh or Hanoi. One of the biggest advantages is the currency exchange rate — 1 Indian Rupee is equal to around 303.34 Vietnamese Dong. This means that you can enjoy luxury experiences at a fraction of the cost. A 5-star hotel stay may cost you only ₹5,000 to ₹8,000. Spending even ₹20,000 here can give you a lavish vacation experience.

    Cambodia

Located in Southeast Asia, Cambodia is becoming a popular tourist destination for Indians. Known for its rich culture, ancient temples, and islands, Cambodia offers an affordable travel experience. Airfares from many Indian cities are relatively low. For example, a one-way flight from Delhi would cost around ₹12,000 to ₹14,000. Accommodation is also easily available within a budget.

    Philippines

The Philippines is another great option for Indian travellers, offering visa-free entry for Indian tourists. In recent years, the number of Indian visitors has been steadily increasing. In 2024, around 80,000 Indians travelled to the Philippines. While Bali, Thailand, and Vietnam remain favourites, interest in destinations like the Philippines is also rising. With its recent visa-free policy for Indians, it’s becoming an attractive choice. Flights from Delhi to the Philippines range between ₹15,000 and ₹20,000.
