IPL 2020 is all set to roll from September 19 and millions of cricket fans will be tuning in. However, in case you did not know, Hotstar, the official streaming partner for the Indian Premier League has decided to shift the live streams behind a paywall this year’s season.
Seeing the uprise in the Coronavirus pandemic in India, the BCCI has decided to relocate the venue for the IPL 2020 to UAE this year. This way, millions of fans will have to rely on streaming services to catch the LIVE streams of the upcoming matches.
Until now, the Hotstar app provided free streaming services to millions of viewers across the country and on a worldwide scale as well. But with the new rumors being surfaced, the same cannot be expected this year.
According to a report, the Hotstar and Jio TV are still unable to strike a renewal deal for streaming the IPL 2020. “In March negotiations regarding streaming of live IPL matches on Jio TV through Hotstar were still on, but the parties had not come to an agreement,” an unnamed official said.
However, the country’s biggest telecom services provider Reliance Jio has provided some hints with the addition of new plans that contain a Free subscription to the Hotstar app that comes with ‘Free’ streaming of the IPL 2020 matches also.
Jio subscribers can live stream IPL matches with select bundles offered by the company for both mobile and JioFiber broadband plans. Here is how you can recharge and get free streaming services for IPL 2020 match live.
Jio Mobile Plans with Free IPL 2020 streaming subscription
Rs 401 Plan
The new Jio Rs 401 plans come with a special bundled plan offerings with live streaming of the IPL 2020 matches. For this users need to recharge with the Rs 401 pack which provides a complimentary subscription to Disney+ Hotstar VIP.
The Rs 401 Jio plan provides users with up to 90GB 4G data. In the plan, the user can use up to 3GB data per day for 28 days + 6GB on top of the daily limit. The plan also gives free calling within the Jio network and 1,000 calling minutes to other networks and 100 SMSes per day.
The plan will also give complimentary access to premium Jio apps like Jio Cinema, Jio TV, Jio Saavn, JioNews, and others, all included in it.
Rs 2599 Plan
For high data consumers, Jio has added an annual plan that offers a tonne of features and offers it gives a complimentary one-year subscription to Disney+ Hotstar and lets you stream IPL 2020 matches for free via the app.
The Rs 2,599 Jio plan comes with 2GB data per day for 365 days + an additional 10GB over and above the daily limit, totaling 740GB in all over the 12-month period. Along with that, you will get free Jio -to-Jio calling and 12,000 calling minutes for Non-Jio networks.
Other added services are the provision of 100 SMSes per day and free access to Jio apps like Jio Cinema, Jio TV, Jio Saavn, JioNews, and others.
JioFiber Plans With Free IPL 2020 Live Streaming
Jio has also provided the JioFiber 849 Plan that offers numerous features and gives a complimentary one-year subscription to Disney+ Hotstar. The data benefits of the Jio broadband plans range from 800GB to 15,000GB, depending on the plan you choose.
The JioFiber 849 Plan also offers unlimited voice calling facility and access to premium OTT applications including Zee5, SonyLiv, SunNxt, Voot, AltBalaji, Lionsgate, Shemaroome, JioCinema, JioSaavn, and others.

The 13th edition of the IPL is going to be held from September 19 to November 10. It will be a 53-day tournament which will feature 10-afternoon matches kicking off at 15:30 PM IST while the evening matches will start at 19:30 PM IST. The IPL 2020 final will be played on November 10.
